East Midlands Open Karate Academy - Dojo specialising in teaching authentic Tani-Ha Shito ryu karate & modern sports karate at:
1. East Leake Rugby PAVILLION, Costock Rd, East Leake, Loughborough LE12 6LY- Wednesdays 6 pm to 7 pm.
2. Loughborough Karate Dojo - Community Room, Tesco Extra Stores LE11 2EX -Thursdays 5 pm-10 pm.
Beginners always welcome along with returners & lapsed students from any style of karate.
Training geared towards authentic, traditional Shito ryu -KATA (forms or patterns) KATA application, KUMITE (sparring drills) KIHON or fundamental techniques.
Strong emphasis on WKF Olympic-style sport karate for those that wish to compete. WKF Karate made it's hugely successful debut at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.
Instruction is by Gary Hoyle 6th dan RENSHI, Shito ryu, 3rd dan Shotokan 50yrs teaching experience who actually attended the Olympic-Rehearsal Karate Event in Tokyo as official representative of English Karate (EKF) before Covid-19 Lockdown.
Gary is a WKF World Kumite Referee & Kata Judge- ideally qualified to help people with their competitive karate.
EMOKA club is a member of the English Karate Federation EKF which is affiliated to the WKF recognised by the IOC International Olympic Commission.
