Shobukan Karate Club is a very friendly family run club following the traditional Japanese syllabus of Wado-Ryu Karate.
The club has both male and female black belt instructors and is led by Kal Vaikla who is a 3rd Dan in Wado Ryu Karate, 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate and 2nd Dan in Yoshinkan style Aikido and has trained at numerous dojo’s across the world for just on 50 years.
The aim is to learn a really effective martial art, gain confidence and above all, have fun and know that what you are learning as a self defence applies to many street related situations.
The club currently runs at 5 locations across Derbyshire with more in planning at the moment.
We actively encourage parents to take part and enjoy the journey with their children and this recipe works extremely well with a high level of families all training in their respective levels of grade.
We take the karate training seriously such that any student can go to any other Wado Ryu Karate club across the globe and know that what they have been taught here will be respected at other dojo’s.
