York Jitsu Club

The club offers training in the Japanese unarmed fighting style of the deadly Samurai warrior. Jiu Jitsu translates to 'gentle' or 'yielding' way and is based upon the principles of using an aggressor's attack's against them. This makes it ideally suited to self defence scenarios and allows smaller opponents to subdue much larger opponents and anyone to scale the level of response to the attack (i.e. from simple grip releases through restraints and up to pressure points and disabling techniques).

The club accepts members from the age of 6 right through into adulthood.

Classes begin at 7 PM on Monday and Friday evenings (excluding bank holidays) at St. Olave's School (off Bootham) in York (UK).
