I joined the club about 3 years ago, having done Aikido now for about 10 years overall, this is by far the best club I've trained at.
Aberdeen Aikido Club is affiliated to the Birankai school of aikido under the Technical Directorship of Kazuo Chiba shihan, 8th Dan Aikikai, direct student of the founder of aikido, Morihei Ueshiba.
The club's instructor, Mark Anderson, has been training aikido for over 20 years and also has a vast martial arts backround. Something he often incorporates into the classes so that students gain a better understanding of martial awareness.
The Birankai school is a very active organisation, with regular seminars held all over the UK, including an Annual Summer camp where Chiba sensei is the main instructor.
If you are serious about taking up a martial art that will keep you fit and teach you about self preservation and defence, then this is the martial art for you.
