Aberdeen Bushido Karate Club was set up over 30 years ago by Sensei Gordon Farquhar to teach traditional Shotokan Karate on a non profit-making basis. Since 2012 the Club has been affiliated to the World Shotokan Karatedo Federation under Sensei Hitoshi Kasuya, 8th Dan, maintaining an ongoing link with Japanese Senseis that has existed since the formation of the Club. The Club Chief Instructor is now Alasdair Taylor, 4th Dan WSKF, who has over 30 years of experience studying Shotokan Karate.
The Club trains 3 times a week throughout the year and gradings take place every quarter. All classes are mixed but split to allow grade appropriate training. We are privileged to be able to offer weekend courses with Sensei Kasuya and with Sensei Yasuyuki Aragane twice a year. All our courses are open. We also encourage our students to take the opportunity to train with instructors visiting other clubs in Aberdeen.
