Basingstoke School of Martial Arts has reached perfection

In my opinion, Basingstoke School of Martial Arts is perfect in every aspect.

The master instructor, Mr. Kevin Hall is an excellent teacher with deep knowledge of TKD, vast experience and has this rare and exceptional ability to inspire, motivate and make everyone feel welcome and comfortable in the class. This is particularly important for very young or ''somewhat older than usual'' students (like myself for instance. ...).

The training itself is genuinely ''scientific'', perfectly balanced and totally comprehensible with a wide range of subjects periodically, repeatedly and thoroughly taught. It is never boring, never predictable, never falls below the level of absolute perfection.

If a student happens to have special interest on the scientific side of TKD, he or she will discover that the master instructor really ''knows everything there is to know''. It is safe to say that BSMA can provide martial arts training to all levels, meaning to an absolute Beginner as well as to a Champion in TKD.

To make things even better, the fellow students in the adults class are persons of high quality character and one feels very lucky to have met them.

Bottom line: Highly, highly recommended.

Disappointed for my child but overall ok

My son attended this school, the teakwondo teacher is excellent, very attentive to the kids and he is a good teacher but I had to pull out my child because I did not like the teachers assistants at all, one young girl and her mum teaching quite a lot of the classes and covering holidays etc for the master teacher for when he was away. They had miserable faces, no personality and were rubbish teaching the kids, I did not want to pay money for them to teach my child.

I noticed that not many parents actually watch their kids so they have no clue to what is going on when the master teacher isn't there.

I recommend this school only if these ladies are removed from this teaching as I don't belive they have done a teaching course to actually teach!

The grading is over priced too but I wouldn't have minded if those ladies werent teaching.

Please take note and even watch how your child is being taught

BSMA is an amazing place to learn the techniques of Taekwondo or BJJ. The instructors are clearly passionate about what they do and offer a brilliant training program. If you have to take a break for a while, they welcome you back with open arms (In which other places may not) Definatly recommended!!

For any parent looking to introduce their child to martial arts this is the place for you!!! My son Kallum is currently a senior blue belt and has been attending the school for a couple of years. The whole school has a very family orientated feel with the instructors making all the children very welcome. Kevin the owner of the schools is clearly a very talented instructor making sure all his students are engaged and enjoying the class. Kallum really wanted to get into to a martial art but was nervous about joining a class. As a white belt he was well looked after and made very welcome by all members of the school and now loves to attend Tae kwon-do classes. I highly recommend attending this school if your are looking to join a new martial arts school!

Top School for Martial Arts

My 4 year old son has been attending the BJJ classes for kids for the past 5-6 mths. I originally approached Kevin as I was keen to get my son involved into martial arts and I like what BJJ stands for. Although my son is by far the youngest in the class, credit must go to Kevin as he allowed him the chance to see how he would cope in the lessons. Luckily for me, my son showed some capacity to learn (more than his father it would seem) and has loved it since. Kevin doesn't allow his age to detract from his learning or to the detriment of the other kids in the lesson.

I was so impressed, that I started myself at the adults BJJ classes. The structure is very good and Kevin is an excellent teacher. With more and more seminars being held, the capacity to learn from others is growing more and more. I cant recommend BSMA highly enough. A must for any adult looking at martial arts for them or for their children.

I have 2 children who have been attending BSMA for about 18 months. The classes are well structured and the children can attend up to 5 classes a week. Its great value for money. Kevin is a fantastic instructor and over the last 18 months their confidence has grown. There are regular opportunities to grade and both kids have enjoyed competing at tournemants. I would highly recommend BSMA to anyone looking for TaeKwondo classes for themselves or their children.

Our son has been a student at BSMA for over 3 years and has loved every minute. The lessons which are taught to the students not just of the art of Taekwondo but of behaviour, control, confidence and patience are invaluable to children. Kevin is a fabulous teacher who has total control over the class due to the respect the students, and parents, have for him. He is firm but fun and all the children love attending his classes. Our son's confidence has grown and the skills he has learnt will last him a lifetime - starting out in Little Dragons and now a Senior Red Belt, he is proud of all his achievements. He has made great friends in class and it's lovely to see all the children keen to impress Kevin with their Taekwondo moves! We can't recommend BSMA or Kevin highly enough - seeing the school grown over the last few years, and being a part of it, has been a privilege.

I'm currently serving in the forces based in Tidworth where facilities and opportunities to do sport are either non existent or sub standard especially when it comes to martial arts ,I can honestly say without any hesitation that Basingstoke SMA is the only established club in a 30 mile radius of Tidworth and the only place that provides consistent training as it is open 6 days a week.

Starting BJJ is one of the best things I've ever done and I guarantee whoever becomes a member of BSMA and takes up BJJ will feel the same.

Great Roy Dean BJJ, advanced unique techniques you won't find in other types of BJJ, i.e. original Gracie BJJ. Which were very useful in both Gi and no Gi style, these techniques I didn't know from no-gi style Gracie BJJ,I learnt before privately. Taught really well too, by either good demonstration, and drilling sessions in class, or competitive though safe and friendly sparring sessions as well.

BSMA is a great place to train, classes are well structured and organised, safe but also fun and you leave feeling more confident and fitter every time, the facilities are ideal and all the equipment is there to enhance your training needs. It also offers a great children's programme and encourages good behaiviours outside of the classroom as well as inside. There is also the opportunity to compete in regional tournaments if you have a competitive side to you.

My personal experience at BSMA has been great and under brilliant instruction I have excelled further then I imagined and although i have been training for 13 years i am always learning something new. I highly recommend the school for a fun, safe and motivating martial arts class.

I have been training BJJ at BSMA for just over 2 months now and really enjoying the experience. Kevin Hall our head instructor has a brilliant teaching style that enables newbies like myself to learn the aspects of jiu-jitsu with motivation. Facilities are great and a close knit feel good factor about the whole academy. A great place to learn martial arts.

I've been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Kevin Hall for just over a year and having trained in various Martial Arts for over a decade I can say his relaxed and informative instructional style is excellent.

The lessons are extremely well organised and with classes 5 days a week you can always find time to train.

If you're looking to begin your journey in the Martial Arts I highly recommend BSMA. Just Flo with the Go and get yourself down today!

I have been coming to BSMA for 13 years on and off. During that time I have gained my black belt in Tae Kwon Do and am now working towards my blue belt in BJJ. Kevin Hall is a fantastic teacher who has a relaxed teaching style and instructs in a clear and concise way. Both my children have attended this school and thrived at the challenges and testing cycles that the BMSA curiculum provides. BSMA now has it's own premises which are clean, well equiped and provide lessons Monday to Friday which has really moved along my ground game. Also Mr Hall regularly organises seminars with some of the worlds best grapplers (Roy Dean, Brian Ebersole, Vince Skillcorn) Great club. Great value for mon-Fri training all year.

If you have ever thought of taking a martial arts class but have never actually gotten around to it I can highly recommend BSMA. Kevin Hall who owns the school is a fantastic teacher who really knows how to engage pupils of all ages and abilities.

I started lessons after my son joined after watching a demonstration at his school.

The training is great and I have met a number of great new friends too.

Kevin has been instructing me for about years (ish) now, During this time our whole family have been to his classes and all have benefited from the classes in one form or another, Kevin is always friendly, eager to help and has an uncanny knack of remembering everyone's names within two lessons!

Whether its Ju-Jitsu or Taekwondo, whatever your age you will feel at home in his school and his teaching approach is well adapted to all the ages of pupils he teaches.

Having a fully matted area 24/7 is excellent with lessons 5 days a week, you can't help but get better.

Would fully recommend to anyone even slightly interested in what it's all about.
