Bishop's Stortford Kyokushinkai Karate Club (BSKKC) started early in 1973 by Senpai Mustapha Nouali. Around 1979 Senpai David Bedbrook took over the teaching at the club and continued until 2001. Since 2001 BSKKC has been operated by Sensei Mark Kingsland with help from Sensei Stephen Hare, both 3rd Dan black belts.
Both instructors have both competed at World tournaments in Japan as well as many European Championships and tournaments and various international tournaments in the Middle East and all over Europe, both hold European Judging qualifications. The club has competed at all levels with students representing their club at both Junior and Senior National WUKO, Clicker and Knockdown tournaments and represented England and GB in International and World Tournaments.
BSKKC hold classes on three days of the week, covering the classic 3 K's; Kihon. Kata and Kumite. Classes cater for beginners to advanced levels and children from 6 year old to 60 years old. Traditional Kyokushin is also complemented by its Sunday Fight Time session which focuses on fitness and sparring.
