Bordon Jitsu Kwai
The Jitsu Kwai School was formed and has been running since the mid 1970s having clubs in Walton on Thames, Bordon in Hampshire while at that time having its centre at the Camberley Budo-Kan. Since the late eighties the school has centred around the areas of Bordon Hampshire. The School run by sensei Mike Shipley has followed the traditional style of Jiu-Jitsu in that the techniques and application taught are not directly suited to competition but are focused on self defence.
The Bordon club has been running in and around the Bordon area for over 20 years. The club was formed by sensei Mike Shipley. A training session consists of jiu-jitsu etiquette, warming up exercises, demonstration of techniques by Sensei, followed by supervised practice.
Jiu-Jitsu was used and practised by the Japanese Samurai as a form of unarmed combat, today it is used mostly as a form of self defence. Much of the unarmed combat used in the military today is based around Jiu-Jitsu.

Classes run on Mondays-8.00 pm to 9.30 pm
Thursdays-8.30 pm to 9.30 pm
Please feel free to come along and take part in a free first session,
alternatively please come along and watch a session if you are interested.
Please note these lessons are not suitable for children and anyone under the age of 16 will be additionally assessed for training. Techniques taught can be dangerous and as a responsible club we like to avoid the possibility of serious injury.
If you wish to train then initially you may train in any loose fitting clothing, preferably fairly strong, but it may get torn. As soon as possible the student should obtain a proper judo style suit (Gi). This is stronger and preferable to a Karate suit.
