What or who are the Budokan Martial Arts?
It is a collective name given to a group of Students and Instructors who came together to train under the instruction of Sensei Paul McLoughlin, who himself has trained and graded to Black-Belt level in many different Martial Arts in his 37 years of training.
The Budokan Martial Arts system is holistic meaning that it covers all the fighting ranges and weapons classes. Therefore you will find many other techniques used in other Martial Arts in our classes. For example, in one class you may learn how to defend against a puncher (Boxer), a Kicker (Kickboxer) or handle someone who has grabbed you (Judo or Muay Thai) and how to avoid an attack with a weapon (Kali). In another, you may learn powerful elbows and knees (Muay Thai or MMA) and what to do if you’re fighting close up (Aiki-Jutsu/Boxing/Jiu-Jitsu) and what to do if you are falling to the ground during a fight (BJJ/Judo or Wrestling). In short you will learn to use whatever the situation calls for, without thinking about it. This approach builds an incredibly capable Martial Artist. You’ll learn how to deal with any situation no matter what is thrown at you. You’ll learn how to act quickly and effectively.
