I have been training in capoeira (at the Portsmouth class) for a few months, and I have really enjoyed this time. It is much more relaxed and dynamic than other martial arts and sports that I have done and a great way to improve flexibility, coordination and balance.

Capoeira is a a very special martial art: it's non-contact, and involves music and singing! It is fantastic for fitness, core strength, flexibility, and coordination. It has a wonderful flow to it. The teacher is extremely knowledgeable, as well as friendly and approachable, and the whole group and class have a great atmosphere. You feel very welcome as a beginner. The class truly caters for all abilities, the teacher is very good at giving all students something to work on which suits their level and physical condition (including pregnancy :-)). Come and give it a try, see for yourself!

I love training capoeira and feel really lucky to have come across such a warm and friendly group. There is no judgement on your abilities and everyone is always happy to help each other. Training can be hard at times but it is always a fun atmosphere. I travel from Chichester to the Portsmouth class and it is definitely worth it!

I've been training capoeira for 10 years with Origens do brasil.

Ive never known a martial art more cheeky than capoeira. Origens do Brasil are a great group that make the classes fun and fast paced.

I have started Capoeira more than 10 years ago in Bournemouth with Origens do Brasil and Professora Bia. Classes are mixed levels, full of interesting excercises where you have mixture of music, dance, martial art and acrobacy in one! My fitness has became great as well as flexibility. Thanks to those classes i have lost weight which made me so happy.

Highly recommended - do not miss it and join those classes with Capoeira group Origens do Brasil!!

My son started Capoeira with Origens do Brazil aged 5 and absolutely loves it! He is now on his 4th cord aged 7 and feels a real part of the capoeira family! Not only does it strengthen your entire body but is also an incredible form of exercise using both your mind and your body combined to reach your full potential! Also the warmth, understanding and friendship you feel when you are in the midst of the group is amazing! He has met people from all over the world who are so open and generous and always feels completely at ease in their company! Capoeira is such lovely form of martial art allowing the student to improvise and develop a sense of fluidity. I would highly recommend this group to anyone!!!

I started capoeira nearly 3 years ago after seeing it in Brazil years ago and searching for somewhere in the UK to do it. It's absolutely brilliant. Each session is planned and well structured, and always pushes you. Over the three years I have developed a new appreciation of my body and what it can do! I am stronger, fitter, faster, more flexible and have improved balance. The instructors are warm and inspiring, and really bring you into the family and spirit of capoeira with the history, traditions and music. I travel 50 mins for it each week and won't be giving it up. A wonderful group and activity!

I started capoeira a year ago; I wanted to try something different, meet new people. I needed to shake things up and put some fun back into day to day life. The people are warm and welcoming, the martial is challenging but oh so rewarding and, before you know it you're hooked! I'm no athlete but every so often I get something right and nothing beats that feeling! And in between my genius moments, there's a lot of sweating and calorie burning without it ever getting boring!

I trained capoeira with Origens for approximately 6 years, I would still be training there if I hadn't moved out of the U. K. The classes are a mix of different levels and you are encouraged to learn and sing the songs, in the whole time I was there I saw some students go from the absolute basic to a high level of knowledge not only in the martial art but also in a different culture and language. I also traveled many different countries participating in other groups grading organised by Origens teachers. I couldn't recommend highly enough capoeira and this group in special .

I didn't know Capoeira until joining this group and now I just can't live without it. I love the way classes are taught, it's a hardcore training in a totally relaxed and fun environment, but always very professional . Capoeira has made me more flexible, made me gain real friends and has given me an opportunity to express myself in ways that I could not imagine. No two classes are the same thanks to the ability of the teachers, and every training I learn something new about this game-fight art, but also something new about myself and the way I approach life.

Great work out, training sessions are never the same, people are very friendly, everyone makes us to feel welcomed. Classes are mixed levels but we'll organised during training and in the end everybody gather together to exchange their experiences and skills.
