Effective traditional Karate and self defence

Classes start with a great full body work out incorporating the proven calorie burning [H. I. IT] high intensity interval training method and every student is encouraged to work to their own ability and fitness level which improves over the weeks, this lasts for 30 mins then the different aspects of karate are taught for the remainder of the class in a detailed fun way so all students can overtime learn the correct way to perform the karate techniques for steady progress through the belts. Self defense techniques are taught including knife attack defense as sadly this is necessary for recent times. fortunately our chief instructor not only holds a 6th Dan in Shotokan karate but was a physical training instructor in the British army and taught self defense to front line combat troops. Unlike many chief instructors Sensei Neil teaches all the classes and does all the exercises and techniques with the class and he always says " I wont ask you to do anything I am not prepared to do. "

Every class is held in a clean temperature controlled environment and has a friendly atmosphere and is very affordable compared to most other clubs in the area and also includes family concessions all ages and abilities train together and everybody is encouraged to be the best they can be.

So put on some joggers and a T shirt and the first class is free.

I can thoroughly recommend The Chase Shotokan Karate Club where you can learn the traditional martial art of Karate, along with modern self defence techniques, expertly taught by instructors with 100+ years of combined experience!

You will be greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere on arrival at the Club, and train at a level that is guided by your ability. Each lesson starts with a 30min exercise routine that encourages you to do your best and which safely stretches and warms the body. Then the remainder of a lesson is always a mixture of the three traditional parts of Karate (basics, forms & sparring) and self defence techniques.

The Chase Shotokan Karate Club teaches all of its members to believe in themselves and to respect others, and through the expert tuition of the Chief Instructor and his senior team, every Karate student is able to notice an improvement in their confidence, self esteem and their overall health.

I have trained with the Club for 10 years and Karate is now an important part of my life and that’s thanks to Sensei Neil Mann and the other instructors at the Club. It’s a very friendly Club and caters for a wide range of ages. Classes combine great fitness, superb tuition and practical self defence techniques which is so important. We are learning and evolving all the time. I’m now so much more self aware, confident and fit! I’ve trained at all the locations (Verwood, Bournemouth and Poole). They’re all great venues and the training fees are very reasonable. Cannot recommend Sensei Neil and this Club highly enough! Come and see for yourself http://www. chasekarateclub. co. uk

I’ve known Sensei Neil Mann since 1994 and gained my black belt in 1998. Today he’s still the best instructors I’ve come across with top quality teaching if you want to be pushed he will push you to your limit. Not just him but also his other instructors in the club. I have travelled a lot and been to so many clubs. I’ll always return to Sensei Neil’s club and meet old faces and new faces that has always being grown on my return. Chase Karate Club is the best. Highly recommend. Have a try or If your in town as a guest you will be welcome and share stories. Look forward to seeing you.

A friendly club with high standards

My eldest son trained with this club over 10 years ago, and now I have joined with my other teenage son who used to practice elsewhere. The club is friendly and welcoming for all ages and abilities and the standard of teaching is excellent. There is a good focus on technique and the reasons why, not just going through the motions. There is clear dedication to the craft. While the teaching is first rate the prices are also very fair, (it actually works out cheaper for both of us to train here than it cost purely for my son at the other club). Its an excllent way to get fitter, learn some new skills and meet new people.

Chase Karate instructors teach very good quality karate to a high standard. Fellow students of all ages are friendly and willing to help lower grades. Classes start with a workout and stretching, followed by technical karate instruction and practical self defence lessons. All of the instructors are experienced, friendly and teach in a professional manner. All training venues (dojos) are pleasant, clean and spacious.

I have been attending this karate school for a number of years with my son. We attend a couple of classes a week, the other participants are friendly and make you feel at ease. It's great value for money unlike some other schools out there.
