Reviews of Pritchard's Martial Arts Caernarfon

We've just enrolled our 4 year old girl here and I have to say the staff are all really friendly and made her keen to go back with lots of guidance, patience and positive reinforcement evident. We had a really nice 1:1 session yesterday to give her an idea of the rules and type of stuff she'll be doing in a separate 'introduction' room. Today we watched with a complimentary drink as she went from rabbit-in-the-headlights mode to really getting into it.

I would like to respond to the negative comments.

To the ex-student who commented on May 27th 2013.

“ Were so sorry that you were not made to feel welcome at our school. This must have been a one off chance as we always have our friendly staff on reception to meet and greet all students and customers upon arrival. Were sorry that you didn’t enjoy our training or self-defence. We try to make all the classes fun, educational and full of value and Our self-defence system is that of The Gracie family which has been tried and tested successfully through out the years. (ufc, the gracie challenge). If you were to return to the School We personally would make sure your time here was enjoyable and Free. Apologies for not living up to your standards, we do have an active count of 500 students who train weekly and do try to interact with all of them.

For the 31st January 2013 comment.

I just hope this is not a comment from any of our competitors in the area, by reading it I think it is, as most of this is untrue. If you have been to your school you should know this.

Our room can hold up to 60 members at one time, but we do limit classes to 30 students.

There is no way you can get ignored on our floor as we have 2or 3 instructors walking the lines.

D/D’s are an option at our school. You can pay, per class, week , month or even annually.

We have not ran the month free offer for some time. Our offer is £20 for 8 classes.

Our time table was changed , but only to offer more classes. We now have 47 classes a week (closed sunday's for family time)

Our prices are based on the value we teach. As price determines perception of value.

Were not happy with less people , hence the 500 students we have in caernafon.

Again sorry you feel this way, I hope you appreciate our response.

Pritchard’s Martial Arts.

Only Been training for 20 weeks at Pritchard's PMA and enjoying every minute.Feel so much better about myself,and am slowly building more confidents every time i go.The classes are always fun and different every lesson so you never get bored. Would highly recommend chris,Gemma and the team of instructors that make it good fun.

Very unwelcoming people,in my opinion not very good training, rubbish self defence, and not good value for money

I have been A part Of Pritchards Martial arts (Formerly known as JlBBA) now for 9 years, and I am a second degree black belt, I am a student turned PMA Instructor, and in my honest opinion PMA Is one if the best things that's happend in my life, and it's completly changed my life for ever in the sence I have become more focused in life, my Fitness has emproved Greatly, My Self - controle and consertraision has gotten better, I have made tons of new friends which have now become a part of my family and and thanks to Pritchards martial arts my Attitude towards life has greatly improved, in the years to come I hope my attitude, and love For martial arts will reflect in the students I teach and hopefully someday to open a new PMA School under the direction of my self in the future, I would like to thank Renshi Chris Prichard, Renshi Marvin Prichard and sensei Gemma pritchard for believing in me and helping me to become a better person, because without them I wouldn't be the person I am today and that's a person that is respectfull to all, kind, and is a hard working martial artist that thrives to be better and who always gives a 110% I would recondmend anyone to atleast give PMA a go because you have nothing to Lose and Absolutly everything to gain and you will deffinetly learn life skills that you will keep for the rest of your life, I will always back PMA 100% in everything they do into the future, no matter what direction they lead into because I know its the best desicion because I am a part of a great martial arts club, The best Martial arts Club, and will always be the best Martial arts club, PMA and the the instructors Thankyou for Everything :) ousa!!

hard working owners, I joined their habit class enjoyed it but had to cancel due to time commitments, they were very understanding and cancelled me with no issues, even told me to come back in future , which I might.Chris and Gemma and their team are polite and professional,they know their stuff, they even give you diet and advice sheets, shame I could not keep. it up.I was a member for a few months after changing from another club,I was not dissapointed.

money making academy, not value for money room small high number of people training at the same Time so if you are new you can get lost or ignored and not benefit as you are wasting time doing the wrong move, they were quick to set up the direct debit and very slow to inform the educational funding company who collects the money on their behalf to cancel my membership, they said I will get a month free I did not.I had to pay two months fee to cancel. you wait a long time for the class before you to finish to start yours due to limited space and limited number of tutors. they keep changing the timetable a lot to suit their lifestyle, no classes on Friday and limited on Saturday. They charge a lot for kids to train if you don't go you still pay and in this current economic climate this does not make sense,, but I think they r happy with less people as long ad they are willing to pay more than the other KARATE SCHOOLS this might explain their high prices. don't get involved its difficult to get out.Money making academy.

I give credit to Renshi chris and all the staff that run PMA in caernarfon and porthmadog.. Extremly fun, energetic, and rewarding experience to be part of the Academy. every class is always worth the time. Highly recommend!. AAA+++

prichards martial arts (PMA) Caernarfon is one of the best I've seen! The dojo has loads of room, it is a safe environment and it been Weel looked after, PMA has one of the best instructors in the world in Renshi Chris prichard, he is always friendly, has a great attitude towards life and has wealth of knowledge in the martial industry, in PMA Caernarfon there is a range of martial arts classes or a fitness class that you can chose from, there is karate for adult and kids, kickboxing, bjj(Brazilian ju jitzu) and also HABIT (hips, abs, bums and incredible thighs) which is a fitness class, you are always greeted by an instructor and the value is great for the lesstons your being taught, I would recommend anyone to try martial arts in PMA out, there is nothing to lose and you have so much to gain! and it's way batter than jlbba ( John Lynne's black belt academy) in the way that they only teach karate and kickboxing so there isent much to chose from! I have been a student of PMA for going on 9 years now and I have never thought of stopping, I will continue to train and continue to support PMA in every adventure and new challenges that they come across, PMA is the best!

I can honestly say I've never enjoyed a class as much as I'm enjoying HABIT. The instructors are fantastic, the routines change fortnightly and are never dull, and the atmosphere in the classes is great. I would recommend PMA to anyone. Gemma and Sarah are great - very professional, encouraging and they make everyone feel so welcome. I've been going for 3 months and feel so much fitter, both physically and mentally. Amazing how beneficial a 30 minute class 3 times a week can be! Thank you PMA

Briliant place to train, instructors are fantastic!!!

prichards martial arts (PMA) is the most professional karate business I have seen and trained in, all the instructors are friendly and professional and the environment is safe and clean and the student service is second to none, I would recommend anyone to start, there is nothing to lose and loads to gain! I have been doing karate with Renshi Chris prichard and Renshi marvin prichard for 9 years now and I have never once thought to stop, I will continue to train and I will continue to support the instructors and PMA in everything they do! training in Prichards martial arts is the best thing I have ever done!

my son has been going now for 4 months and really enjoys it,he has gained a lot of confidence ,the classes are actually four nights a week not three and i think its well worth it i am a very happy mother thank you ;)

Great classes, with energetic, different challenging content week in week out.

My son has had the most wondrful experience at PMA. His general fitness and coordination has really improved over the last few months since starting just before the new year. The biggest benefit I would say though is his growing self-confidence and positive attitude which have changed as a result of the fantastic teachers and welcoming students who train at the dojo. Personally, I don't think you can put a price on life skills like these, but I think the value we get for the service provided is top rate! The school is run by a professional, enthusiastic team that love karate and teaching. This comes across at every class and I have found every member of the team to be approachable and friendly. We have experienced other dojos in the area, and I know it can be a really personal choice, but this one works really well for us. I would recommend a visit to see for yourself what a great place this is.

All the bad reviews on here are just a load of nonsense and incorrect they should get their facts right before putting false comments on here.

The club is run by very dedicated & professional young Men who work hard to train their students and to keep them motivated. I for one Love coming and will continue for as long as I can I will also recommend anyone to give them a try.

There’s no second guessing the spiteful person that has written the negative reviews on here, hmmmm. And also I would like to point out that they were written ‘coincidently’ the day after each other. It’s very unfair to take your ‘anger’ on someone who is considered to be a great role model and whom we are very lucky to have in our small community and that is of Renshi Marvin. It upsets me to read such un- thoughtful words as Renshi Marvin is a young, enthusiastic and a very talented instructor who has a demure manor to his personality. He is excellent with the kids…and can I just point out, if this was a ‘poor’ academy then why does he have so many students???

Took eldest son to karate as he was being picked on in school so wanted him to gain confidence and to be able to look after himself in a safe way - it has worked he feels better in himself.

After seeing the effect on eldest son we took youngest son, he also need to gain self control as he had a temper again there has been a big improvment in him.

Both boys really enjoy the session and look forward to the classes every week.

Would and have recomend these classes/sessions. Thanks PMA.

Whent to jlbba and I can deffenitly say that PMA Porthmadog is the Best academy I've ever been to! both the instructors inspire me in everyday and when I walk in I feel good and ready to go, wayyyyyy better than jlbba!

I have been one of Chris Pritchard's students since 2006. I started training at Caernarfon and due to workload and increased hours have now moved to PMA Porthmadog. At both academys I have found the instructors, Chris, Gemma, Marvin, Robin and Adam to be respectful, encouraging, motivating, supportive etc, everything you would expect from a top martial arts school.

I have been able to share my time between both academys and always receive a warm welsome in both. I would not attend any other Martial Arts School. The classes are excellent and the instructors show the upmost respect to all students, of all ages.

I believe that individuals who do not agree with my thoughts about this academy should keep their opinions to themselves, we all have issues in our lives that crop up from time to time, and these things happen to the best of us. Should they be truth, lies or just idle gossip, they should not be posted on the internet. These instructors at PMA Academy show respect and courtesy, how about you grow up and do the same. I would recommend Pritchard's Martial Arts Academy to any individual who wanted to train in Martial Arts. Thank you all at PMA :-)

We joined the academy just over 2.5 years ago as a family, myself and my 2 sons age 11 and 13 now and we have all experienced excellent benefits. We are happy, fit and healthy and the discipline the children learn through team work, drills and skills and through their katas is amazing. It has helped both of them to focus on school work and they are both respectful to parents, teachers and others at all times.

For me, the classes are an excellent and fun way of keeping fit, in the time I have been attending no 2 classes have been the same, the instructors are excellent at varying the workouts to include different activities that are fun and interesting. The recent changes to the timetables has been refreshing, allowing for more sparring and higher and lower grade classes.

The dedication and hard work of the instructors is inspiring, the atmosphere in the academy is always welcoming and friendly. Instructors are friendly and supportive, especially of newcomers where you can be introduced at your own pace to increase confidence and ability.

Some comments on here suggest that it is expensive; the academy offers a range of classes everyday of the week so there is opportunity to train every night if desired 5 classes a week over a month period works out at £3 a lesson-so much cheaper than the gym or any other fitness classes.

Grading every quarter is fantastic as you achieve goals at regular intervals and are rewarded frequently for hard work and effort. Yes everyone does pass their grading, however if you are not up to the standard you do not grade - you are told in PRIVATE so as to not embarrass of knock your confidence in public-this is especially important for children and beginners.

We all love training at Pritchards Martial Arts and reccommend the school to anyone and everyone who wants to get fit, have fun and make new friends. Ousah!

Since joining Habit Classes at the end of 2011, I have lost pounds of weight and inches and inches of fat! I've always enjoyed aerobics and dance classes but haven't experienced the same success than with Habit! I strongly recommend the classes to anyone who wants to lose weight, gain confidence and feel good about themselves!

Since joining H.A.B.I.T. 4 months ago i am not only 3 stone lighter but i am fitter and stronger to i am more confident and have made many great new friends the instructers are fantastic and make you feel so welcome i would Deffo recomend PMA to family and friends . Also my husband and son have started kickboxing and speak highly of Chris Gemma and the staff at PMA as Gemma said a family who kicks together sticks together LOVING IT THANX PMA

Our Son has been training at the academy for over 7 years! in that time karate here has been a positive influence on his life. His confidence has grown , his school work has benefited due to impovement in awareness and concentration. He has become stronger which has helped him in other physical activities. His determination to show a never quit attitude is down to you all at the Academy - which has resulted in him gaining his black belt recently! Many thanks to Renshi Chris Pritchard and all the team!

There's been a vast improvement in my son's behaviour and social skills. The academy has taught him so much in the little time he has been there. He has learned how to be confident, independant and his confidence is so much better. But most of all he now understands the importance of respect. He really enjoys coming to class.

All the teachers at the academy are enthusiastic, friendly and approachable. The advanced classes can be hard work, but their always fun. Since i started karate ive made friends, got more confidence and got so much fitter. Training gives me something to look forward to on Mondays !

My daughter attends the Karate classes and would be there daily if she could ! HABIT is also awesome !!!!

Always a wonderful atmosphere - Chris and Gemma and everyone else there have supported me through some really tough times. I love working with them. Both my children trained with them and enjoyed their time there. Keep up the good work, looking forward to training with you for many more years to come :)

Instructor more intereted in his new car than his students. If he can make money out of you then he will.

Sad that this so called school charges £70 per month for kids to train!
