In order for you to gain a little more clarity behind the purpose and mission of the Community Tang Soo Do Association, I must give you a brief history of my journey to this point.
I have been in Tang Soo Do for 25 years (since 1988) and have been a Dan grade since 1991. My lineage is strong and can be tracked back to the Founder of Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan, Great GrandMaster Hwang Kee who sadly passed away in 2002.
On the 22nd June 2010, my family and I experienced the loss of my Daughter, Bethany-Shannon to an unknown ‘natural cause’. This is something we obviously have to live with, however, Bethany wasn’t about how she died, but about how she lived.
Since her passing, I was also the Regional Instructor for the West Midlands of the British Tang Soo Do Federation but have since left in order to get control back of my family’s lifestyle. In that time, I have held numerous charity events and raising a lot of funding for various charities and now I feel it is time to merge the two ventures together and subsequently the concept of Community Tang Soo Do Association was born.
