DSKC is a traditional shotokan karate club affiliated to SKDUN GB/SKDUN (Shotokan Karate-Do of United Nations), JSKF and JTK (Japan Traditional Karate Association). The Chief instructor is Colin Putt sensei, 8th Dan. Colin sensei has over 40 years of experience practicing and teaching karate and is the highest ranking instructor in the region. He is also an international referee, grading examiner and holds national and international seminars. Colin sensei started practicing karate under Enoeda sensei (Japan) and regularly trained with most of the Japanese instructors in England, and continues to do so. He is passionate about his art and has unique teaching methods, a blend of the traditional Japanese style with a modern approach, providing detailed explanations and examples. His sessions are informative, but also fun, whilst still providing good workout and are mentally and physically challenging. Colin sensei and his teaching remain true to the Budo Karate principles. Club members have opportunities to participate in national and international competitions and seminars.
