Devonport Shotokan Karate Club is very welcoming and in many ways is more like a family than just a club.
Sensei Colin Putt is extremely experienced and tailors each session to the needs of the students so that all grades benefit from each and every session.
Traditional budo values are emphasised alongside the more technical aspects of karate to make for a rounded and complete training experience.
I would heartily recommend Devonport Shotokan Karate Club for children and adults alike. Regardless of if you have tried a martial art before or are a complete novice you will find something of value and push past the limits you think you have.

Fantastic club to learn Karate. Our sessions are hard but also fun.
Came back after many years without training. We are a big family and this shows in the support before, during and after training.
Would recommend to anyone, no matter how old or young or ability. We all struggle in different ways and are thought to get past our struggles in a serious but also fun way.

Devonport Shotokan Karate Club is very welcoming and friendly.
Every session is extremely beneficial to all of the student's. We accommodate each class to fit every student training.
Our sensei Colin Putt 8th dan has years and years of experience with a wide range of knowledge.
I strongly recommend this dojo.
Devonport Shotokan Karate Club is an absolutely top-notch institution. Sensei Colin Putt is a top tier instructor and entire club is welcoming and encouraging. A real emphasis is placed on exploring traditional Budo Karate, resulting in a deeply rewarding and practical study.
I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone interested in Karate, or wants to learn real and effective self defence while also developing a wider understanding of spirit and discipline, to come to DSKC.
