My son has taken up karate lessons with this dojo as his very first extra activities outside of school.

He loves it and has not only improved his karate skills but also his level of concentration.

As I am Japanese, sensei has taught me about my country’s wonderful martial arts that I’ve never knew much about! I can see that his experiences and love of Karate really translate into how he teaches to his students, which is so lovely to see every week!

Sensei Ben truly goes above and beyond. I’ve seen him stay after class to help my son with a kick, showing his genuine commitment to his students. He’s approachable, supportive, and makes every class engaging with games and fitness exercises, not just drills.

Most importantly, it’s clear how proud and happy Sensei Ben is when his students succeed. My son loves coming to class, and we honestly wouldn’t have stuck with karate if it weren’t for the positive, encouraging environment Sensei Ben creates. We’re very lucky to have him.

Can’t praise this teacher enough!! Learning at Dragons Karate has really boosted both of my grandchildren’s confidence. They are learning discipline self respect and their enthusiasm to attend classes continues to grow. I’m very impressed and it really makes me proud of the positive impact learning Karate has had on the wellbeing and in their little lives.

Sensei Ben is an experienced, professional Sensei who adheres to the dojo kun written by Master Gichin Funakoshi

He is a caring, kind and considerate teacher whilst maintaining the necessary discipline.

We first started karate about four years ago whilst Ben was a sensei with another dojo. My son was shy and less confident and not much of sporty child. Fast forward to today at the age of 15 he is strong, confident and well disciplined. Credit to Ben. . When Ben left the dojo, my son refused to continue unless with Ben and I was so pleased when Ben opened up Dragons Karate. Ben continues to inspire and train my son who is now on purple and white belt. .

I was shocked to see several negative reviews which are so untrue. I have known Ben for a long time now and highly recommend Ben and his dojo.

My daughter (almost 4 years old) is normally very difficult with new adults and kids. She got along with Sensei Ben very quickly. She feels very comfortable and good there. Always happy to go and can't wait for the next session.

I personally have been training with the sensei for the past 15 years and have seen the growth and development of this club and what it embodies. I can attest to the facts that Dragons Karate is not only a martial arts club where all you learn are techniques, it’s a place where you can develop your confidence, discipline, mental resilience and more. You will learn about what you are capable of as an individual and even surpass your limits when coached by the Sensei.

The Sensei’s extensive experience in teaching classes for nearly a decade shows to how he tailors his approach to teaching children and adults; helping them understand techiques and overcoming their mental and physical limits. Training at the club myself, I have seen the transformation in development of character of his students, all feeling safe, showing respect to each other, and able to give their all week in and week out. You will not find a more welcoming and committed club to train at, with a community as healthy as that of Dragons Karate. 🐉

As part of a martial arts family going back over 50 years, it was important to find a dojo for my daughter that continues the spirit of what Karate is truly about. In Sensei Ben & Dragons Karate, my daughter is part of a wonderful community with like-minded children (& parents), where she’s able to train in a fun, safe environment. Two years in, a purple belt round her waist and never a week missed, she just loves it! Highly recommend!

Always a happy day when it comes to these classes for my kids, they never want to skip a class, it is so professional I trained martial arts for 12+ years and this one is one of the best I’ve seen, since going here the kids have gained so much confidence in themselves, I would highly recommend this class!

My daughter has been going to Dragons Karate for about six months. She is highly selective about what she likes and she loves this class. She never wants to miss it. She does a few different clubs and it was only when she started Dragons Karate that she showed such enthusiasm for an activity. Sensei Ben has an excellent manner. He is very kind and accommodating whilst also maintaining discipline.

I have also been to many different martial arts classes over the years and I am highly impressed with how this one is run. I would definitely recommend it.

This school has given my child so much- confidence, discipline and of course the best karate teacher and training in the area. I would highly recommend it, and the Sensei is nothing but professional and appropriately equipped to teach children.

Obviously the other reviews here are written by some people who clearly have absolutely no idea what an excellent, fun and professional class this is . Sensei Ben is brilliant with my children I’d highly recommend him to everyone.

Owner gives very bad energy, clearly faking being kind. Seems TOO interested in the children too. Avoid and save your money

This is a miserable club that is hardly a karate club no reputable practitioners here.
