I've been training with this club for several years now. I find the instructors to be very knowledgeable and accomplished at teaching their students. They welcome and talk to new people when they come along.
Overall the club atmosphere is quite relaxed. Club members are neither overly macho, nor acting like they have something to prove.
The club has a wide range of people at different levels/belts, stretching from beginner levels up to the more advanced grades. Grading exams happen roughly every 6 months - 1 year.
Having tried a few martial arts groups in Edinburgh, I've found a home with Edinburgh Jitsu.
The group is welcoming and social, and their core focus is on self defence, personal improvement, and enjoyment of the art above competition.
