For a person whom has done a variety of Martial Arts over the years I had decided that studying Wing Chun was the way I wanted to develop my skillset and with Faan Kuen School I have to say I was not disappointed. From the Excellent level of instruction from Andy and Gavin through to the innovative adaptations of situation based training I have found the system both rewarding and fun to learn.
I have also since starting the class unfortunately found myself in a situation where upon I was required to defend myself and found that the techniques taught in class enabled me to avoid being assaulted whilst incapacitating the aggressor enabling me to escape with both myself/friends and family unharmed in a matter of seconds.
Faan Kuen Club approach the key goal of self defence from an only if you have to perspective, encouraging strong morals from the little vipers class for the kids through to the adults with a particular focus on self defence for the women that attend classes both at Basingstoke and Tadley.
My advice is if your considering giving it a go give Andy a call, first lesson is free and you will get even more than you expect out the system within a few weeks.
