Ford Judo Club has been in existence for over 40 years. It has moved from its original home of Ford Sports and Social Club, and is now based at Westlands playing fields (Opposite St. Edwards Secondary School), Romford. We are currently one of the UK's top judo clubs, with a number of our young fighters gaining places in the British Squad.
The classes are run by a number of club coaches which has a range youth and experience. All of our coaches have passed National Governing Body coaching schemes, are first aid trained, have completed child protection programs and are also DBS checked.
Ford Judo Club now has more than 100 members, starting in age from five years old, through to over seventy. Ford Judo Club welcomes players of all standards to its dojo (training hall). There are beginners Judo classes for children aged from 5-10 years to introduce them to the fundamentals of judo. There is also an Intermediate/Advanced class aimed at children who want to learn more and to start progressing through the grading system denoted by coloured and banded belts. There are also Adult classes for experienced players, and we also run regular adult beginners courses, for a gentle introduction into the sport
