Freespirit Martial Arts was established in 2012 with the intention to deliver quality tuition and student support in the style of Wado Ryu Jujutsu, which is a eclectic hybrid of Karate and Jujutsu. Lead instructor Mark Reather is a 3rd degree black belt and personal safety consultant whom has worked with West Yorkshire Police teaching self-defence as well as PMVA (Prevention & Management of Violence and Aggression).
All instructors are Enhanced DBS (disclosure and barring service) checked in relation to safeguarding of our students, hold a minimum 1st degree black belt, MAIUK Level 1 Instructor Status under Andrew Morrell of the CMAA. Freespirit Martial Arts are a CMAA Centre of Excellence club.
All classes are age related to ensure that all our students make good levels of attainment in the style of Wado Ryu Jujutsu. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, no experience is required to participate and new starters are always welcomed with 2 free, no obligation classes. Freespirit Martial Arts DO NOT ask students or families to sign a contract. Class days and times are Tuesday 6-8 pm for our adults 14+ and Wednesdays we offer 3 classes 5:30-6:30 pm 4-8 years, 6:15-7:30 pm Novice to Intermediate, and 6:45-8 pm Advanced Students.
