At Furao Jiu Jitsu we welcome people from all different levels of fitness and experience, from complete beginner to competitors. The main discipline we teach is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Gi and No-gi), also focusing on the self-defence element of the art.
Professor Ben Machin has been training under Second Degree Black-belt, Professor Simon McGovern, since 2007 and was promoted to black-belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2016. Ben has a passion for preparing his students for competition as much as for helping those who wish to better themselves through the challenging and rewarding journey of a martial artist.
We are proud to be affiliated with the McGovern Academy, under Ben Poppleton Europe and the Gordo BJJ Association.
Our school is registered with the UK Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association. This means you can be sure of quality instruction, public liability insurance and a commitment to abide by UKBJJA policies on safeguarding, health and safety and athlete development. All UKBJJA clubs are taught by instructors from a verifiable lineage.
