Aikido Dojo based in & around Colchester. We are a friendly & supportive group, as well as being a member of the British Aikido Federation & United Kingdom Aikikai. As well as practice we also have socials & outings as a group.
Our Sensei, Eric Gillett, is a 3rd Dan in Aikido & has also studied other martial arts, with other qualifications, including First Aid.
Please feel free to turn up & have a go, or watch if you prefer. We cater for people 12 years & upwards. Don't worry if you don't have a gi (white suit) to start, just turn up in a loose fitting top (preferably with sleeves) and trousers. Also bring some sandals or flip flops to wear between the changing room & the mat. Spectators are welcome. Please do not be concerned with your physical abilities as we cater to your needs, even if you have a disability.
Prices are £5 for concessions & £6 for all others. Our senseis volunteer, so this mostly pays for hall fees. If you are thinking of practising more long term additional yearly insurances are needed & information on these can be got in person. First lesson is free.
