Huddersfield Wing Chun
Wing Chun is a Chinese martial art that uses relaxation, body structure, straight line punches and explosive energy, it is designed to help the smaller person overcome the larger opponent. Wing Chun is understood via the unique training method of 'Chi Sau', a physical game (similar to grappling) which allows the practitioner the train every aspect of the art.
The Huddersfield Wing Chun school opened in 2013 as part of the Northern Wing Chun Kung Fu association. The school is run by Lee Maloney and Rik Garrad both of whom are senior students of Sifu Colin Ward, an Ip Chun certified master of the art and a senior world wide representatives of grandmaster Ip Chun.
We are dedicated to teaching wing chun as taught by Grandmaster Ip Chun and our Sifu Colin ward in and open safe and relaxed environment.
At the Huddersfield Wing Chun School we teach the full wing chun system. All of the Forms are taught in detail, from Siu Lim Tau, the Wooden Dummy and upwards. We teach and train Chi Sau at all levels as we believe this is key to success in your training, therefore it is not reserved for 'advanced or senior' students. We also provide a full grading syllabus to help students progress and monitor their progress. We are very proud of our wing chun heritage and genuinely look forward to passing on this special art to our students
