I took up karate in 1986 to gain some self defence skills and improve my physical fitness. Having dabbled in countless martial arts over the years I never thought I would have ended up running my own dojos, reach 5th Dan, become Welsh, British, and World champion. In 2010 I was appointed the Kata Coach for the international Welsh Karate Team where we are now ranked 6th in the World. It's been an interesting journey to say the least!
From the accolades and the glory of the tournament side I get my greatest satisfaction in teaching at club level, working with students, children, families and adults of all abilities to better improve their skills and help them on their own journey. I'm inspired by my own students by the effort and determination they put in and the faith that they put in me as their instructor, which I endeavour to do my very best to support and encourage them through the challenges they face.
A full time instructor I aim to make karate accessible to the wider community and share the positive effect of top quality training.
