Reviews of Johnson's Karate

I had lessons with Master Johnson (and his wife) in the early 2000s and to this day at 33 years old his arrogant and bullying teaching manner has stuck with me. I did not at all enjoy learning with them but picked martial arts up again when at university (where I had a great instructor). A degree of discipline might be required but the balance between that and making sessions enjoyable and a conducive learning environment was definitely not struck when I was a child. I can only hope this has improved in the intervening years.

Dreadful and not affiliated to any karate organisations . Just poor with dreadful technique - not rated by any other karate organisations. Would not recommend this person and so called organisation to anyone

I spent a long time trying to find a suitable reputable company to teach myself and my family Karate. One that was well established, with qualified instructors and insured. I contacted Master Rachel-Griffiths Johnson after seeing Johnsons Karate leaflet at Stratford leisure centre. The class was brilliant a complete mix of ages the youngest around 4 years old ! What was even nicer was that I saw there were many families all training together. They did warm ups which had an aspect of fun to the children, basic moves and forms, kicks etc this was exactly what we were looking for as a family. The classes we attend in Stratford, Bidford and Chipping Campden are excellent, good value for money, they understand the expense that come with a growing family first hand. We are taught by professionals Master Tony Johnson 6th Dan is the chief instructor and examiner along with his wife Master Griffiths-Johnson 6th Dan, this is their day job, they are Martial Art Instructors, and the best!

During the last year, my children have gained strength, balance, passion and confidence. We attribute it to Johnsons Karate and their teaching methods.
