I've always enjoyed Jeetkunedo but good teachers are hard to find, especially in this area.
What I like about Junfan Jeetkunedo is that training is a relaxed casual atmosphere with the occasional joke, no grading pressures (there are none in JKD!) and each is encouraged to train to their own potential an desire. You get out what you put in, and it's a nice bunch of people (m/f from age 16 onwards). There's no bravado, but decent instruction, and a few drops of sweat too :-) If you like Bruce Lee, and you want to learn his art as he left it, nothing added or taken away, this is the place!.
I've done a bit of taekwondo in the past and tried some judo when I was younger. now being in my 40's I wanted to do something and found Jeetkunedo and found that it is quite a different and refreshing approach on martial arts and self defence. At the center of the instruction is the person, science and body mechanics. Not a style or tradition. If you want to learn about real combat/defence about the things that are unfair and not how it should be, about the way of the world, I recommend trying this out. There is nothing 'fancy' or 'complicated', everything is very efficient and everything has a purpose. and you're learning what Bruce Lee developed (not what he showed in a movie). Highly recommended
