The instructing is excellent. It is a very safe environment. It is clean, it has a high standard of learning, but there is always fun put into the lesson. Everyone there is great and the whole group of instructors are great with begginers, and there is always a person waiting to make friends with new begginers.

The most excellent place to learn

This karate school is more like an extended family, and very welcoming to new members. The classes are well thought out, and well supported by senior grades. All senior grades are approachable, knowledgeable and helpful; especially the chief instructor who takes an interest in everyone and their development.

Classes are made to be engaging and relevant to your self defence and are never dull.

Anti bullying features highly in the ethos of the school. It is not just frowned upon, it is detested.

I find this an excellent place to challenge and develop myself. I feel that anyone would thrive in this environment.

As well as being a student at this school, my kids have been attending for 2 and a half years and still love it.

My Son has not stopped talking and demonstrating his 'moves'. He's even had me doing it. I must be out of shape since leaving My Physical job .

Anyway, he thoroughly enjoyed himself and wants to come back on Sunday.

He said the 'teacher' was very good.

I spoke with him (I forgot his name). He said My Lad was very attentive and was eyes on for the whole session.

Personally I thought he was very good. And your lass too. Very family orientated as you've always said.

He has gone into school this morning with a spring in his step, ready to take on the world

Just learning that little bit of self defence has bolstered his confidence 100%.

I think you may have gained a new recruit for sure.

Highly experienced Karate Sensei (Teacher) with excellent Dojo (Training Hall) and Superb training facilities, suitable for all ages. Effective tuition of Karate with fun aspects too. Very Highly Recommended !!

Top class family run Shukokai Club

Two things strike you when you first enter this club.

Firstly - The friendliness of the club of everyone involved in this club is unparalleled, from every member training to parents dropping off the kids for each lesson you are always greeted with a smile.

Secondly – The knowledge of the senior member of the KSD team, all carried out under the ever watching eye of Sensei Daz.

I joined along with my family back in 2011, and still going strong in 2017, we have followed them from a part time club to the current full time dojo operating 5 days a week.

We are now a family consisting of a 1st Kyu and 3rd Kyu and I have worked my way from a 10th Kyu to 1st Dan.

The buzz of training remains and the appetite to learn never stops and that is a real testament to the knowledge and delivery of teaching available at the club.

Personally my life has changed since attending KSD, I am fitter, stronger, more focussed and developed a mental toughness that transfers through to everyday life.

As a non-profit club it allows the focus to remain on the teaching. No gimmicks needed as proven by the 4 weeks free offer, it is the perfect opportunity for anyone thinking of trying.

You literally have nothing to lose, no fees to pay, no kit to buy until you decide that you would like to continue, and even then there is no sales pitch no extortionate upfront fees. Flexible payment options to suit your training.

Regardless of your reason for starting be it lack of confidence, bullying, fitness, ability to handle confrontation, meeting new people …… you will not be disappointed.

Each lesson is carefully thought out and delivered by the time served & qualified instructors, with every age group catered and cared for.

My son has been going to Ksd karate for just under a year now, both myself and my wife have seen a massive difference in his confidence in himself and his general behaviour, everyone at Dojo makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door, the teaching is second to none and the amount of smiling faces from young and old alike speaks volumes. The instructors know everyone by name and regularly check to make sure everyone is happy and know what they are doing and the seniors in the classes are happy to do their bit and help with the progression of the younger members, it really is like one big happy family night

Unquestionably the best there is around. Knowledgeable, friendly, patient and caring instructors right across the age spectrum. From the youngest ‘Little Warrior’ to the most senior member, this club and it’s ethos is second to none. An absolutely awesome place of learning for all ages and abilities. Ego’s don’t exist in the dojo and your commitment will be more than matched by the club’s professional and caring way. Cannot speak highly enough of this place and full credit to those who make it what it is.

My daughter came to the dojo as a Little Warrior for 4 free classes and she absolutely loved it. We’re now more than 2 years later and she’s moved up to a Super Samurai and coming along fantastic, this is because of the amazing support and encouragement she gets from not only the instructors but also from all the older children who help out. It is her ‘Karate Family’ and she would go every day if she could.

A fantastic family run club that suits all ages from four upwards. I can't put an upper limit because all ages train alongside each other. Little Warrior classes are perfect for little ones to get their first taste of karate delivered in a fun way. The new Samurai class bridges the gap between warriors and cadets. This is a class where there is still lots of fun but starting to polish the basics. Cadets is a great class for children up to 16/17. There are always lots of laughs during this class but focus is on learning. Then it's seniors, can't really comment as my son is in cadets. We have been going to KSD for four years and my son has grown in confidence over this time. If he could go everyday he would. They are also taught life skills like stranger danger. As a parent is lovely to sit and watch all the children develop and become amazing individuals. KSD really does become your second home! KSD is one big family where everyone is welcome.

Free Karate classes to being i was sceptical

I was sceptical to begin as nothing is for free, what was the catch ?, there isnt one.

I was eased in at the back of the class, to begin i felt embarrassed lacking coordination and balance, i needn't worry, the assistant Instructors had me feeling at ease in no time at all . i am 3 months into my Karate and am loving it, still at the back of class but aspiring to be on the front line. they line up in grade order i am always watching those on the front line looking through a sea of bodies there effort and standard is amazing, one day i hope to be as good . there are no Ego's what so ever in this club and ive seen all ages come in, your never too old look at me in my late 40's and trying something new, thank you to all the Instructors and assistants for making me feel like part of the family .

As a parent I could not recommend this club more, the change I have seen in my child since starting at KSD have been brilliant and for the better. My son has become a respectful disciplined and dedicated young man and I could not thank the team at ksd any more. They put their heart and soul into the running of thier establishment and the teaching of thier students’. They should be proud of what they are accomplishing.

Amazing club, the instructors out there heart and sole into what they do, there enthuisiasium in every class is a joy to watch . I can see they bring a wealth of Karate knowledge and technical ability but on top of that they “ in my opinion as a parent “ change the lives of there members I’ve seen such a change in my child outside the dojo . They treat everyone as individuals also not an easy thing to achieve . I can’t thank them enough my child loves training and wants desperately to become a helper / assistant instructor and a black belt .

Your worked to a level your capable of but pushed a little higher every class learning new moves, making new friends and getting fitter and stronger while doing so .

the two years we have been members have flown by we love it.

Thinking about trying something new, I cant recommend this enough there are classes for all ages little ones aged 4 up to I think Eric is the eldest at 71 .
