Keiryu Practical Karate
Lee Mullan, 3rd Dan Instructing
Karate was originally developed as a system of movements to defend against brutal attacks from ‘villains and ruffians’. It was not, in our view, devised to defend against attackers who had undergone some kind of formal combative training. Neither was it originally developed as a martial system. It was constructed by and for civilians, to be used against violent civilian attackers. It is within and from this context that our training at Keiryu Practical Karate has, and continues to evolve.
"Lee Mullan is an extremely enthusiastic karateka and is not one to rest on his laurels. Lee has an excellent pedigree in traditional karate and understands its application in the modern world. He is one of a small number of people to be qualified as an Introductory Instructor in my approach to kata application / practical karate and I recommend him and his group to anyone wanting quality karate with a genuine relevance to modern self-protection." - Iain Abernethy, 6th Dan
