We are a non-political martial arts group, who openly welcome students and instructors of other styles to study the techniques and principles of both Kempo and Close Quarter Combat Systems. We are a Founder Club and Member of the Scottish Fighting Arts Society and linked to the Cobra Martial Arts Association.
All Main Instructors are of an experienced Black-belt level and are Accredited
and Vetted by the Scottish Fighting Arts Society. All Main Instructors also are Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) Checked and are Members of the PVG Scheme. They are also Fully Insured to teach with Public Liability Insurance and are First Aid Trained. The Main Instructor is assisted by a team of Assistant Instructors and Class Assistants who are all Disclosure Checked members of the PVG Scheme and First Aid Trained. They help in the tuition of Junior Grades and also in the daily running of the School.
What is Kempo
These Kempo Classes are a mix of both juniors and seniors and a mix of all grades and levels from complete beginners to black belts.
In these classes a comprehensive syllabus is taught consisting of Kicks, Punches, Locking Techniques, Throws, Nerve Point Applications, Sparring, Ground and Grappling work with defences against weapons included to deal with today’s current social climate. The system and syllabus is flexible to suit each student regardless of ability enabling them to effectively defend themselves against various attacks from single and multiple attackers.
Progression through the Kempo School Syllabus is monitored by the use of a regular grading test for students. On satisfactory completion of this test students may move up a grade and or coloured belt. There are set standards for this which with a regular training pattern stands students in good stead to pick up the movements, techniques and attitude required to work through the syllabus and move up grades.
