At Boldon Kuei-Ling we teach a derivation of Lau Kung Fu based on the original Lau Syllabus combined with the teachings of many other popular martial arts.
The style can be used in tournaments, whether it be points based, semi/full contact or light continuous.
The Kung Fu syllabus also has the 'forms', which are known as sets (often referred to in other arts as Kata or Patterns).
Both styles teach self defence against unarmed attackers, with the Kung Fu students also learning weapons techniques, using Knife, wooden staff and traditional sword (Senior Grades)
All Kuei-Ling students are taught discipline, open mindedness and respect for their instructors, classmates and fellow martial artists from other styles.
In addition, we stress very strongly, that all techniques learned in class are NOT to be used outside of the club, except in the extreme circumstances of having to defend one's own life or the life of others, while taking into account the legal rammifactions of doing so.
