What an amazing group! Super friendly and welcoming and way more experienced than I anticipated. I have been staying in the Machynlleth area for a few months with work and after some enquiries the guy at our hotel suggested it might be worth a look. Now that dude is a unit and he said the main instructor is only about 5'8", over fifty and seriously kicked his butt! What? Ok, let's see then. I work in close protection and I figure if you don't ask you don't get, so I went ahead and called the guy just to see and y'know what. Wow. This dude knows what's what. I didn't get to their club as it's about an hour away, so I visited him instead and we had some training sessions up at his cottage in the hills.

Amazing!

I am so pleased I took the time to find Tony, speak with him and see if what folk say is true or not. I got way more than I expected! He's got mad skills and a crazy sense of humour but so humble and generous with his time. I carry 3 mid level Dan grades (4th Judo, 5th Jujitsu, a 1st in kenpo) and I can't lie but the depth and width of knowledge was unfathomable to me. I don't honk we touched the sides it was awesome 😎

Tony, I wish I could have spent the entire month with you, but thank you for your generosity and knowledge. We wish you all the very best and I'm honored to have spent time with you (and the Wolf pack!) .

God bless, Chad W.

I first met Sensei Bell in Neath, in Wales UK. He made tough training great enjoyment. I've trained with him three times since, two times here in Germany and once more time in Wales. Each time he has shown us such insightful depth of knowledge and understanding! An awesome experience and much learning. I am 3rd Dan Jujitsu and 2nd in Judo - I made me again feel like a novice. Fantastich!

Herzlichen Dank!

Extensive Knowledge!

I was fortunate to meet Sensei Tony Bell during a week long seminar abroad and again, during two separate seminars here in the UK. I have been engaged in martial combatives for over 20 years and I must say I found Tony's very direct approach to problem solving empirical. Not just a teacher, an active user of required skills, Tony has proven time and again the skill needed to survive violent encounters.

Rarely, I also found within Tony's instruction (and to use his words) there is "restraint in use and restraints in the system". This was perfect for me. I think Nyojitsu is Ideal for both active learners who want to improve their understanding and knowledge of effective self protection, (me) and for uniformed environment users who need to face violent encounters as part of their employment (me again). I look forward to getting back to Wales, UK, so I can train Nyojitsu again.

Good choice for anyone interested in martial arts/self defense regardless of experience/age/gender

I've found it very easy to join the training sessions even though I've started in the middle of the academic year and with a (very little of) different background. It's a bit out of town but it is almost always possible to get a lift (splitting the expenses for taxi is not that horrible either). Sean has a good background and experience in real-life situations and is always willing to repeat, explain and upgrade for someones interest, he doesn't even mind staying longer for that cause. I appreciate that no pressure was set on me for the things I was not comfortable with. Overall it's a good/useful course, dynamic, safe (with the use of common sense), not time-consuming with fun included.

The classes teach a no-nonsense approach to self defence. A practical guide to keeping yourself safe without having to spend years and years, wasting time and money like in most other martial art schools, to learn something useful. Dealing with weapons and pressure training from the off, this is the best self defence system to learn in the area.

I have found this Martial arts school to be of a very high, Sensei Meaney is very patient and breaks techniques down so you understand each stage of what we are being taught. Personally I have found that my confidence has grown while participating in the secessions. There is a positive vibe that all the students enjoy and feed off. I thoroughly love going and look forward to the next class.

It is extremely difficult to find a decent combat club and that is exactly what this club is. Depth of the style, mixture of techniques from other styles that actually work and great breaking down of techniques. The sensei is an amazing teacher with vast experience and is always willing to help and explain; Sean also takes into consideration student input, if the input is actually valid. A great club with great people, which I definitely recommend to everyone.
