Not a good standard of teach and focus on money

It’s even a while since I earned my black belt with this lot. What sickened me that even when I got my black belt I had to wait another six months (paying more money) to get my certificate which I refused to do. I now do Muay Thai and the difference in the quality of training is day and night. There is so much bad technique and minimal attention to detail. This was my first intro to martial arts and I got caught up in the quest to get a black belt as I didn’t know better. It’s run on a hard financial model that can exploit vulnerable new members. Please avoid it. There are better run less expense options.

They want your money nothing else matters

I went years ago to be honest, saw an ad that said free month. By the time I had left that first night I had paid £180 down payment, more for kit and £100's for 5 months for a 6 month course! Was too weak to protest. Then signed up for a 3yr course and was told could cancel at anytime, when I tried to because of work changes I was ignored and threatened with bailiffs, ccj's the lot by the finance company running the contract. In the end I lost thousands to them and left 1yr into the 3 as felt a fool. As other reviews state, their training is weak and repetitive and unless they're after more money you just don't matter to them. Young or old, experienced or not, avoid this company like the plague.

Having attained my black belt in the Aegis system I'm in a good position to say that this college is fantastic at taking your money. If you want a black belt by the age of 5 and to be an instructor at 14 then this is the place for you if you're willing to pay. The academy is also too heavily focused on philosophy and not physical technique. There isn't an even balance of both. The level of commitment to attain a belt is minimal but the cost however is far more important to them. I heard from a trainee instructor that the college would rather have 500 average black belts, than 50 excellent ones. If you want to become a good martial artist look elsewhere. If you want somewhere to send your kids to burn of some steam, or buy your way to becoming a black belt in just 3 years then this is the place for you.

All these people are interested in is your money. We went to the class in Bramley with our little lad, it ended up costing us over a grand for 6 months. They wanted to sign the whole family up at more cost. The building is freezing with kids as young as 3 running around bare foot. When I complained I was laughed at. Jokers, personally I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. You'll need a bottomless pit of money to get your little in to black belt.

If you want to be a 7 year old black belt then go here, but it will cost you, you can grade every two months and it is based on paying £30, it is not based on work or how good you actually are.
