The Newport Karate Centre was established to promote traditional Shotokan Karate-Do training in Newport, South Wales.
Founded and Jointly run by Sensei’s David Lloyd SanDan & Kerry Straeker NiDan instructors who are both JKA card members, ‘The Newport Karate Centre’ known as ‘TheNKC’ now have over 40 years of experience to draw from in the art of Traditional Shotokan Karate-Do and provides students and instructors with a fully equipped friendly and professionally run dojo where they can practice and master their karate skills accordingly.
In 2020, TheNKC was forced to make a difficult decision to move yet again (through no fault of their own), so they moved into their own dojo, one where they can open and close whenever they like and for the first time in it's history, have all of their equipment permanently available for their members to use.
