North Surrey Karate (NSK) is a recognised, professional and friendly Martial Arts Club based in Chessington, North Surrey. We teach the Traditional Okinawan style of Goju Ryu Karate, to all adults and children.
We were established by Sensei Jason Rogers who has acquired professional martial arts training, over a span of 30 years, and specialises in the training of Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate. We are affiliated with the reputable and renowned English Goju Ryu Karate Do Association (EGKA) and the International Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate Do Federation (IOGKF).
We have been established with the objective of delivering professional Goju Ryu Karate, to train and equip individuals with all the necessary skills of self-defence and help them maintain good health and fitness. Martial arts training sessions at our Dojo in Chessington are focused on teaching coordination training, self control and discipline. Our large Dojo is also equipped with all the Traditional Hojo Undo training equipment including Makawara, Chi-Ishi, Testu-Sashi, Nigiri Game, Kongokend and Tan
We are extremely proud of our lineage which can be directly traced back to the founder of Goju Ryu Karate, Master Chojun Miyagi.
The Goju Ryu Karate philosophy also incorporates both ancient oriental studies and modern scientific understandings of physical movement and anatomy. Such a complete system cannot be learned from books and at NSK we are very proud to have a direct tutorage from one of the greatest masters of our time, Master Morio Higaonna, and renowned for his fighting English Chief instructor Sensei Ernie Molyneux.
