My son and I have been attending this club for a number of years, starting with the kids Sunday class. It is a fantastic organisation and has been a big part of our lives providing a welcome relief from work. Kevin Barlow is an amazing instructor, always patient and supportive. My son and I always attend classes together and grade at the same time which has recently culminated in attaining our black belts. I thoroughly recommend this club to anyone who wants to become involved in martial arts.

My boys enjoy these classes immensely as do I. The Patience and the skills used to interact and develop my children are fantastic.
I would definitely recommend the club to anyone who wanted to introduce their child to martial arts.

The club's reaching its 30th year and that's a testimony in itself. A professional club with years of experience, old fashioned teaching values and a professionally atmosphere. Students of all grades and extra instructors on hand so teaching assistance is available during busier classes. This club dedicates everything to its students and you can't find that in just any club. Come and give it a go, you'll not regret it!
As this is a site based on reviews of the “club” I will do just that. This club is an extremely professional organisation which is run to a very high standard. Sensei has gained the upmost respect from his students over the years and this is visible from the moment you enter the Dojo. Having attended last years National’s, which might I add, Sensei Barlow did a fantastic job of organising (given the lack of help or offering from other clubs) you only had to look around the room and it was clear to see that the presentation of other club’s wasn’t quite up to standard. Sensei Barlow is always extremely well presented and ensures his students follow suit. This shows in his tutorial style and also at such events. Unfortunately due to the lack of support from other club’s, this years National’s was forced to be cancelled but has now been re-booked been, as usual though, you can’t please everybody due to venue availability. Come along and see how professional the club is on the day and to show your support. Such events are carried out under strict procedures following current guidelines, something Sensei Barlow is extremely familiar with. Being awarded his 8th Dan is proof in itself that Sensei Barlow is where he is today because of the time and effort he has dedicated over the years. Testimonials from current students ensure that you will learn from the best. You can be sure that anything you are taught will be suitable to your grade and ability. Sensei is an expert in Kata and this is shown in the way he teaches. You’ll find the content of classes varies from beginner to advanced levels and there's always extra help of hand. There is a fantastic website with a member’s area where you can find all you would need from the minute you start.
