Pontarddulais Aikido Club
Aikido is a non-competitive form of personal development and self-defense based on traditional Japanese schools of martial arts (koryu). It is suitable for people of any age and classes cater for all levels of experience and fitness so please come along and have a go.
Pontarddulais Aikido Club is affiliated with The British Aikido Federation, which has “Full Recognition” status from the Aikido World Headquarters, Tokyo and is a founder member of both the International Aikido Federation and the Joint Aikikai Council.
All BAF club instructors hold a minimum of Joint Aikikai Council (JAC) Coaching Award Level 2 (which meets the requirement of Sport England’s United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (UKCC) framework) and are covered by Public Liability Insurance from Hiscox Insurance through their JAC membership. All BAF instructors are first aid trained and those having regular contact with children are subject to enhanced DBS checks.

Programs & Class Schedule
We train on:
Thursdays 19:30-21:00 (Adults 18+)
New Adult members get their first three classes for £5. After this, it’s £5 per class.
After the first three classes, you are required to pay an annual BAF membership and insurance fee of £35 (£25 for students, £20 for 65+). Family groups of three or more members only have to pay 75% of the total (see BAF website for full breakdown of rates).
Please note that this club is run on a not for profit basis. The training fees go straight into our rent with Pontarddulais Judo Club and any excess is then used to bring in guest instructors.
