Programs & Class Schedule
Lil Dragons (4-6)
Originally written by an American Martial Arts Instructor and Child Psychologist, Kimber Hill, it has since grown to become one of the most popular children’s programmes in the world, thanks to its ideal blend of basic martial arts, life skills and safety skills.
Aimed specifically at children of this age group, the programme is structured to provide all students with a fun and safe learning environment.
Students are graded every eight weeks and awarded different coloured belts for each grading. Lil’ Dragon’s is the one of our most popular programmes, we have limited spaces available to ensure we can offer a positive, safe and educational environment for all our Lil’ Dragon’s.
Junior Classes
Our Juniors martial arts can train in Freestyle Kickboxing and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu. As with our Lil' Dragon and Adult memberships, Juniors can attend as many classes as they like during the week in our Reigate Studio.
Classes are fun, but well structured and incorporate both a grading system and even a Junior Leadership program courtesy of Sports Leaders UK.
Kickboxing
Western Kickboxing is a relatively modern and dynamic sporting adaptation of traditional styles such as Karate and Kung Fu (in our case, Lau Gar Kung Fu). Although many variations exist, the basic premise is to score points (or in full-contact variations, to incapacitate your opponent) using any combination of punches, strikes and kicks.
Styles such as K1 allow for the use of clinching and single knee-strikes, but most of the Kickboxing taught at the Combat Company is Semi-Contact or Light-Contact based and is done using gloves, foot-pads, shin-pads, head-guards and gum-shields.
As a form of self-defence, allow limited to blocking, moving and striking, it is immediately practical, forgoing complicated sequences of intricate movement in favour of single, effective techniques.
Great for beginners and advanced practitioners alike, our classes are separated by grade so no one has to feel left behind or held back!
BJJ
BJJ Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a ground fighting art that specialises in joint locks and chokes to secure a tap or victory over the opponent. Started by the Gracie family in the early part of 1900, BJJ works to help the smaller opponent to beat a much larger one using leverage and technique rather than power. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can be trained for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self defense. Sparring (commonly referred to as ‘rolling’) and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress and ascension through grades/belts.
