Ryoshin Ju Jutsu is an amazing dojo. I have been training with them for almost 2 years now as one of the younger members and I can definitely say that it is a welcoming and friendly place. The classes are exceptionally enjoyable and professional, with plenty of help from other people so you never feel left out. Overall, Ryoshin Ju Jutsu is very good and I would definitely recommend joining!

I joined about 3 1/2 years ago with zero experience of any martial arts. Gary, the instructor, and the other members of the club were all very welcoming and supportive.
The style is a decent mix of traditional moves and modern adaptation suitable for self defence. The classes are very reasonably priced and paying as you train doesn't tie you into monthly payments saving you money when other things get in the way.
There is the opportunity to grade a couple of times per year, but there is no pressure if you don't want to. The instructor is very knowledgeable and the senior students are all happy to help if you're struggling with anything.

The Ryoshin Nihon Ju Jutsu club in Elmswell is the type of club that I have been looking for, for about 3 years now. I have studied mainly in the art of Hapkido, as well as a little bit of Aikido, Karate, and Kickboxing. The other clubs I have been a part of were good, but this club has that extra something that makes it great. The instructor Gary, has a wealth of knowledge from his many years studying the arts. The atmosphere and learning environment is brilliant. Gary and the other students are very nice and down to earth people. I really enjoy the traditional class, but Gary also teaches us practical self-defense techniques in the last half of the class that will prepare us for the right now in our lives. I enjoy the class so much that I do not mind the almost 1 hour drive it takes to get there. I would highly recommend this class to anyone that has an interest in studying the traditional martial arts of the Japanese Samurai, or people that want to be able to walk confidently knowing they can defend themselves if need be.

An excellent place to learn martial arts. A very nice, friendly and helpful group of people. Everybody is happy to help throughout the classes and they cater for all abilities. I have learnt a lot since I have been a member of this club and I would definitely recommend them. £5 for a 2 hour session is definitely value for money.

Very good enjoyable classes. A balance approach to training combining self defence, technical throws and locks, and groundwork. Friendly classes, high level tuition performed in a safe environment. Would happily recommend it.

I've always been made to feel welcome at this class right from the start and am very impressed with the dedication of the instructors and their high level of expertise. The way the class is taught enables everybody to learn properly, Gary and Julian are very good at making each class personal to every student. I always feel a positive sense of achievement after each lesson. The syllabus covers a lot of ground but is structured in a way that enables it to be taught effectively. Each class contains a bit of everything, so you always have a bit that you feel more confident with, and a bit which pushes you harder.
The students are great. I've felt part of the group from the first lesson, I feel happy training with anyone there and everyone encourages each other. I'd recommend anyone interested in learning traditional jujutsu to come along and give it a try.

I have trained in a few different martial arts over the years, and after a break of about 10 years really wanted to start training again. I was worried about starting again at the grand old age of 35 and also carrying a injury but after a phone conversation with one of the instructors i thought what the hell. First lesson, hooked! the instruction is friendly with big emphasis on safety, and even when my injury is giving me aggro the instructors work round it for me. For me Ju Jutsu is the most rounded and versatile martial art i have trained in and what i also enjoy is the historical insight the instructors give us into the art and why we do certain things. Everyone who trains at our dojo is friendly and accomadating, so give it a go!

Have been going for around 4 months now having no previous knowledge or experience of jujutsu. The instructors made me feel at ease straight away and take time to explain how to perform the techniques, the reasons behind the techniques. This is a no ego class and that for me puts it above many gyms/dojos/clubs.
Keep up the good work guys.
As a complete Martial Arts novice I was quite nervous about attending my first class. From the second I stepped through the doors I was welcomed and made to feel included by both the instructor and more senior students. The classes themselves are both enjoyable and informative, with a good mix of syllabus for those wishing to complete grading and general self-defense techniques.
They cultivate a safe, friendly and fun environment which makes every class enjoyable (and injury free!) and I could not recommend highly enough!!
