Very fun sensei who is dedicated and committed to what he does, he makes it a fun place to learn and I love attending each time

My son and I have attended the dojo since 2018 and have found it be a great place to learn karate for children and adults. The friendly instructors run great classes, always keeping things fresh and interesting. We find the family classes great as we can both train together. Highly recommended!

My son has been going for nearly a year and he loves. The atmosphere is full of excitement from all students.

Since beginning here a year ago my son has gone from strength to strength. The staff here are amazing and take the time to personally get to know every single students strengths and weaknesses.

I would not hesitate in recommending this dojo to any family and it's members. My son bounds in and out every week- always eager to do more!

My daughter and I have been attending this club now for nearly a year and a half. We both get a lot out of it from fitness, karate techniques to new friendships. The Higashi team have a teaching style that enables learning. We are progressing and learning with each lesson. The session are all varied and are not repetitive with constant line work. The club is also affiliated with the Shindo Kai association. If a student is interested there is the option to participate in competitions at both a regional and national level.

I would definitely recommend Scarborough higashi, the instructor's are very professional and the classes are very well balanced to suit all ages and abilities!! My son has 2/3 lessons per week and thoroughly enjoys it, he did try another club previous to Scarborough higashi but this didn't seem to benefit him so I am so pleased we made the decision to move because he has come on in leaps and bounds since!! Super proud to be a part of this club 😁!

My son is nearly 9 and has been attending since April this year and he loves it. From day one everyone was so welcoming. He has come on so much since he started and looks forward to every lesson. I would recommend this karate club to anyone from beginners to black belts, young or old. These guys are great and although teaching is priority some how its always incorporated with plenty of fun.

My son and I have been attending this family run karate dojo for well over a year. My sons confidence in himself, the respect and dedication he now has is amazing.

The classes are amazing and tailored to the students levels. From day one the instructors have always been friendly and take the time to show you correct form. Between my son and I at nationals won 2 silver medals and a bronze in kata and kumate this year!!

An amazing place to learn martial arts and watch each individual grow. The instructors are amazing, exceptionally knowledgable and have a clear passion. My son has rapidly progressed whilst attending here and I cannot wait to see him develop more and watch the club grow even bigger and better. Super proud to be a part of this place.

This is an amazing, fun, educational and enthusiastic karate club. It's by far the best club my son and I have attended. I highly recommend this club to anyone wishing to learn karate. The negative comments below are FAKE by jealous rivals and complete lies!

A family friendly run club that has been an amazing opportunity for my son, this has helped not only with confidence but given him something to focus on. He enjoys every session and is always practicing at every given opportunity.

Me and my son came here from the other club and after few months me son won medal in National Championship. Can not say anything wrong about this dojo. Really family club.

My son has been going to higashi Scarborough for around a year now, he absolutely loves going and always comes out smiling. The staff are professional, friendly and fantastic with children. I feel completely safe leaving my child there and my youngest cannot wait to be old enough to start. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of sending there child to karate to use higashi Scarborough it something very special indeed.

This dojo is an amazing place to study. It is ran by a very welcoming, Very knowledgable and patient instructor. Students (and their families)

are made to feel part of the dojo 'family'.

The instruction is very good and you are encouraged to learn from every

opportunity available. (Visiting instructors\competitions. Etc)

My daughter has been a member for well over a year, she absolutely loves going and is progressing really well, She has as a new found confidence and all the staff are amazing.

Everyone is very friendly and accommodating.

They have proved themselves to have good teaching at the competitions, winning many medals. My son will start in the New year. Karate is an excellent skill for people to learn, and Scarborough Higashi is a great place for them to learn it!

Scarborough higashi has both fantastic students and instructors. The review dated 20th March 2019 is not true to word. Mr Redmond (the man who made the review) has never attended or had a child that has attended any classes at Scarborough higashi. It is a false review that has been put on through what I can only think must be jealousy. To say they have attended the club for 5 - 10 years is quite funny as the club hasn't even been open 2 years yet. I'm proud to say that Scarborough higashi is not a club who will try to blow out someone else's candle to make theirs shine brighter. It's such a shame people behave this way.

Since this club opened in 2017, I have seen a growth in all my martial arts skills. The instructors are very knowledgeable and encourage students to work to the best of their abilities. They teach both traditional martial arts along with sport aspects of karate. Every time they go to competitions, medals have always come back with them.

Could not recommend this dojo enough.

Just poor, very poor :( went to learn a martial art and was taught very poor techniques :( and the knowledge the instructor didn't have was very worrying :(
