So-Kyokushin Karate Bury St. Edmunds was established in 1972 and the Chief instructor is Mac Robertson 6thDan .Kyokushin Karate is a martial art first and that means it is a form of self development, K1 , MMA and Knockdown competitions are just a development of that, a test like breaking (tamashiwari) not the ultimate aim.
So-Kyokushin UK, was affiliated in early 2020 with So-Kyokushin World Organisation.
With so many Kyokushin Karate organisations changing so many techniques, kata and kumite, Kyokushin Karate is moving further and further away from what Sosai taught. Some organisations have changed so much that they are barely recognisable as Kyokushin anymore.
So-Kyokushin UK will follow the leadership of Hanshi Daigo Oishi and teach Kyokushin EXACTLY as Sosai taught. Hanshi Oishi, being a VERY long serving Uchi Deshi of Sosai, supported by Shihan Cameron Quinn, pour all their expertise and knowledge into their organisation to ensure Sosai’s way of teaching Kyokushin remains true.
