Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese martial art that was first used by the Samurai as a means of defending themselves when unarmed. It has developed over many hundreds of years and provides an extremely effective self defence system against virtually any attacker unarmed or otherwise.
Jiu Jitsu consists of a range of techniques which include: joint locks, throws, immobilizations and strikes to nerve points and vulnerable parts.
St Athan Jitsu is part of the Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu Association, a non profit national martials arts association. The club is taught by Sensei Adam Jenkins, who lives and works in the local area. Adam has been studying Jiu Jitsu since 1996 and also at the instructs at Cardiff University Jiu Jitsu club.
