An inspiring school where traditional Kimura Shukokai Karate is taught using fun and motivational techniques. Suitable for all ages from 5 and above.

Students are encouraged to learn, grow and develop, through disciplined application, to master the many techniques and be able to demonstrate them effectively.

All aspects of Karate from Kumite, Kata and Self- Defence are taught as part of the diverse and inclusive training.

Students also have the opportunity to travel and compete abroad representing the Federation and wider associated organisation AMA.

This family atmosphere that exists at each class is rare and is a pleasure not only to contribute to but be surrounded by. All are welcome and parents are encouraged to watch, learn and be a part of the teaching.

My two sons have been training at Takimura for about 10 years, they're now 16 and 18, both are black belts (1st & 2nd Dans) - and even after all this time, they still love it!

All the students at the club arrive with smiles on their faces and after each class, leave with even bigger ones. The classes range from traditional martial art karate to sport Karate through to self defence - all of which keeps the students very fit and interested.

As they progress and gain confidence, the students are encouraged to compete in small local competitions, then larger regional ones right through to national and even international ones.

If you're thinking about trying karate, I'd definitely recommend that you come along - the instructors and students are friendly and very welcoming. Come along, you won't regret it!
