Bad Instructor - Jack of All Trades, Master of None

I became familiar with this school whilst in Bognor. They held a club in Dream Fitness. After enquiring what style they taught, the instructor became cagey and answered 'a bit of this and but of that'. I saw a previous review on here that kind of hit home. After talking to an instructor in Worthing, it turned out that the Tao Dragons instructor had appropriated their advertising without permission.
Then a friend of mine attended a Tao Dragons class. He said it was a dire experience with the instructor being very elusive about what style they were being taught. Something to so with a blend of Cho Kwang Do and kickboxing, but no detail on the instructors actual qualifications or grade.
I hear that he is also does not have a DBS (he teaches children), or insurance.
Not a great start for a teacher who holds several classes in the area. ... McDojo springs to mind

Upon asking the instructor what martial art they specialize in, I was greeted with "a bit of everything Ive learnt on and off over the years". This proceeded to be an awful display of inadequate knowledge of martial arts.
Definitely not good for self defence

I started Tao Dragons in October 2016, and I was apprehensive at first like most people entering into a new environment. However, this was quickly dispelled in my first class as it was such a friendly atmosphere.
8 months on, I feel I have learnt and achieved so much in a short space of time. I have been given clear teaching and advice which I was able to quickly take on board.
Tao Dragons welcome people from all backgrounds, and any special circumstances are catered for. The classes are fun, engaging and informative. You are taught how to defend yourself in everyday situations using a variety of effective techniques.
There are no ego’s, everyone is treated equally and with respect. The classes are energetic, so not only are you learning self-defence, but you are also improving your fitness.
If you are looking to gain knowledge on how to act in situations where you are required to defend yourself, and burn extra calories whilst doing so, Tao Dragons is highly recommended.
The owner bullied my son who was aged 4 at the time. The classes were immensely boring for children, standing in a big queue to punch a pad once and then return to the back.
My son was continually shouted at and singled out in front of a class of mixed adults and children when he was unable to stand still in the queue for long periods at a time! and this behaviour is completely inappropriate towards such a young, or any, child.
The content was repetitive and after 6 months our son wasn't even given a white belt to wear. There was no encouragement or respect from the instructor.
Avoid this man like the plague. He should not be running classes for children as he seemed completely lacking in the skills to do so.
