Great gym for people of all levels

I joined the Temple as a beginner with my friend who trained somewhere else for 3/4 years and we both love it here. The coaches make sure we always do the right thing for our level even though we have different experience.

Great for beginners or long term martial artists

I joined temple about 6 months ago (aged 34 with no experience) to lose weight in a fun way as getting very bored of the gym!

Loved my experience so far. Done a couple of gradings and met some great people, and the coaches are friendly.

Would 100% recommend

Really lovely community style club - family friendly and relaxed

Lovely club with really welcoming staff and members. Joined having had a bad experience at a few other clubs and so glad that I didn’t give up on martial arts!

Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and made me feel at home straight away. Started with a 1-2-1 trial (which was free) which lasted about 30mins all in with a chat about what I wanted to get out of training and a mini physical intro to the techniques and how it works in the classes

After that I decided to join, and my classes work out at around £5 a session twice a week, with the first month included with my licence and uniform.

Have now been training for around 2 years and absolutely love it. My fitness has improved massively, I’ve graded up to Blue belt and am looking forward to working my way to black belt!

Money hungry martial arts club

No!

I joined temple martial arts and at the beginning saw a bunch of friendly people who all have a common love of learning a form of fighting. As the months go on I saw the smiles of the staff fade and it turn into a smiles for all new faces and once you have become known to instructors their attitude towards you changes. They invest time in the people they think will be investing money to the business. Each grading cost money, the equipment you need to train in or spar in cost a lot of money. They tell you bullshit that you need to buy all equipment from them so you are covered by their insurance however when it comes to instructors friends they can get away with buying stuff from your local JD or Sports direct. As far as I am concerned i liked learning the new things but in terms of the trainers, facilities ( the facilities are crap! the equipment is never cleaned after use and a lot of the boxing gloves and focus gloves stink!) and considering how much they charge you would expect a higher standard from them. I would recommend anyone to start a form of marital arts but i would not recommend that club. They have lost their passion for the sport.

I was dead nervous but everyone was so nice and friendly, and they really know what they're doing too, the girl there is really sweet and a black belt! Me and my sister both love it and are both losing weight! Highly recommend.
