Programs & Class Schedule

Walsall School of Shotokan Karate is one of the most successful karate schools in the Midlands area.

We have classes five days a week with a flexible schedule to suit everyone.

We offer age specific training for 4-7 Year Olds, 8-12 Year Olds and Teenager/Adults.

We offer weekly advanced Black and Brown belt training.

We offer weekly dedicated kumite training for fighters and aspiring fighters.

The school has produced numerous black belts, British, European and World Gold medallists.

We currently have twenty-five active black belts, many with over 20 years experience.

The school has a fantastic team of Instructors headed by Steve Carless 5th Dan, a former Grand UK Champion and twice European Silver medalist. Steve has trained continuously for over 30 Years, instructed continuously for over 20 Years, is a registered Kyu grading examiner, is JKS England coach and is a regular instructor on seminars in the UK and abroad.

We are affiliated to the JKS (Japan Karate Shotorenmei) with Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

All Black belts are registered in Japan and every grade is a legitimate qualification endorsed and certified by Japan.

We are members of the EKF (English Karate Federation), the only English Karate organisation recognised by the WKF (World Karate Federation) who are in turn the only World Karate organisation recognised by the IOC(International Olympic Committee).

We charge monthly standing order (No contracts) based on whether you wish to train once per week / Twice per week or unlimited training. If three or more immediate family members join, a discount of 50% will be applied to the cheapest member's fees.
