Hidden gem of a martial arts club!

I'm a current student of WYKK, having come from a previous martial arts background of traditional and modern styles including K-1 Kickboxing, of which I have fought in. I joined WYKK as I was interested in re-building my skills/fitness, and taking on new martial arts challenges!

I'm very much enjoying my journey with this style so far. I would describe Kyokushin Karate, as well as training under our teacher, to be a perfect blend of traditional and modern martial arts! Whether you want to fight in full-contact, bare knuckle 'knockdown' tournaments, or simply want to perfect your techniques by learning form and Kata - there is something to be found in this style for everyone!

Training is as demanding as it is rewarding. Like most things in life, you get out what you put in! A core philosophy of this style is self-improvement. Training at WYKK has given me focus during a particularly tough time in my life, and vastly improved my many aspects of my physical and mental health.

My favourite aspect of the club is the sense of community/family. We are from many walks of life, but are united by a love of Kyokushin, Karate and the martial arts in general.

WYKK is affiliated with British Karate Kyokushinkai and the International Federation of Karate (Kyokushinkai) - both well respected organisations with a long history. As well as grading and competition, we are also given opportunities to train at national squad sessions, summer camps, kata seminars, as well as with other clubs throughout the U. K.

I would highly recommend training at WYKK, whether you are the complete beginner looking for a new hobby, or the advanced martial artist looking for a new sport to increase your current ability. Training is highly affordable, and there are no contracts, sales tactics, or hidden fees, etc.

As a member, I am very proud to train at a hidden gem of a club!

I have trained at the dojo since 1998. It has given me fantastic physical and mental excercise. The instructor is very well respected among the British kyokushinkai organisation and has second to none knowledge. The classes are a great balance of traditional techniques and modern fighting methods. If you wish to compete nationally or if you just train for yourself, these classes offer it all. The class membership prices are very reasonable. Classes are welcoming to all new practitioners. A club like this is hard to find.
