I started attending York Karate with Sensei Simon just under a year ago with my two sons (9 & 8yrs). Having studied a different form of Karate before I was a little reluctant to venture into a new style, but now I'm so pleased I did. Shotokan under Sensei Simon is extremely rewarding and great fun too. He is a dedicated instructed who instills discipline and respect amongst his students, but at the same time creates the right culture in his club to allow everyone to train hard in a fun environment. Both myself and my sons look forward to our training sessions every week and its great that you can share this learning experience together.

Sensei Simon's classes create a fun and friendly atmosphere in which to learn Karate but at the same time instills the discipline and respect that goes with a Martial Art. Our son has some problems with focus and coordination and we find attending these classes are a great benefit to him.

My son (9yrs) and I (41yrs) have both been training with Sensei Simon for 2 years and always look forward to the classes. Simon gears the the training to each persons ability and consistently challenges us to improve our karate and our fitness. It is also immense fun. I would highly recommend the club.

Edward is 9 and has been training with Simon at JKS Karate Club for 3 years. He adores going and we have seen huge benefits with fitness and discipline that Simon instils in all of the sessions. Up to Green Belt and dedicating much time to practice to get even better. Thanks for a great club
My son Kieran started doing as an after school club with Sensei Simon's , who asked Kieran to come to one of the main classes has he believed that he would benefit more from these classes.
Kieran was a little out of his comfort zone by doing this but because Sensei Simon create a fun and friendly environment to learn, Kieran soon settled in. He has now managed to do 2 belt grading’s, which has built his confidence and will be going for his yellow belt this year.
