I have been training with David Hall and the s.a.f.e defence Northolt team for just over a year now and have found it to be a brilliant experience.

S.a.f.e is a great system to learn and incorporates the best of several martial arts. It's great to build confidence and boost fitness. The techniques that are taught are effect and can be used in the real world.

David is a dedicated and fantastic teacher who takes time to go around and train the students and has a genuine care for them.

There is a great family type atmosphere during training, everybody helps each other no matter what grade they are or experience they have.

I would recommend the class to anyone who wants to learn martial arts and self defence with real world applications

I train at the Basingstoke branch of S.A.F.E but have been lucky enough to have watched some of David Hall's sessions. They are fast paced, real, full of adrenaline and great fun. David is a dedicated and enthusiastic instructor and I would encourage anyone who wants to be part of a fantastic no nonsense, no frills system to come and take part. Anyone is made to feel welcome.

S.A.F.E. - A Realistic, Applicable yet Fun Self Protection System

I've tried a variety of Martial Arts and Fighting Systems...TKD, Kick Boxing, Wing Chun, Shoalin Kung Fu and MMA. As much as I enjoyed and respect each, there was always one element or another, that was missing.

However, I've found S.A.F.E. to be a realistic system that utilises Boxing, Muay Thai, Jujitsu, Krav Maga and Kali. Thus, whether it's Stand Up, Ground or Weapons Defence, it's covered. The classes have students of both genders, a variety of cultures, a wide range of ages and experiences that range from black belts in other Systems to complete novices...and no one is judged or treated differently. There's mutual respect.

Sparring and Adrenal exercises ensure we're both physically and mentally/emotionally prepared for real potential troubles 'on the street'. We drill the techniques so that they not only become second nature, but can be applied/adapted to a variety of defensive/counter attacks. We train one on one but also one on many, to emulate the real World. All this in a disciplined yet fun and enjoyable environment.

But a System can only be as good as it's instructors and the students that practise the System. Here is where S.A.F.E. is second to none.

I train with Sensei David Hall at the Northolt site. But I have also had the honor of training with the founder and creator of S.A.F.E., Sensei Jeff Sawyer and his class in Basingstoke. There are other S.A.F.E. accredited instructors, who have clubs of their own, that I've trained with too. Every instructor is humble, down to Earth and very approachable. They actually care about your welfare and safety, not for business reasons, but on a personal level. There is no ego amongst the students. In fact, it's more a family where everyone is helping each other develop, regardless of 'level' and experience.

The weight I've lost, the strength, fitness and confidence I've gained, is a credit to S.A.F.E and both the Instructors and Students within.

Whatever your health and fitness goals/aims/desires and whatever it is you're seeking in a Martial Art or Fighting System , I would recommend S.A.F.E. regardless of gender, age and experience.

An Amazing & Necessary Programme

Having been abroad on an exchange year, I was unable to participate in classes. However, having been present for the year before classes, I knew exactly how training was going.

This system does not just teach you techniques and manoeuvres to protect yourself and others. It teaches you not to fear, not to panic, not to ever jump into anything you may regret later.

The system's moves are quick, practical, life-saving and life-changing. Sensei David Hall makes you do it again and again until you do it right. The classes are a steady blend of discipline, nurture & fun.

Also, it is an immense and satisfying workout. You leave the dojo a lot less tense, and a lot more happier than when you may have first walked in.

Personally, techniques learnt here, have saved me before, resulting in the perpetrators of my inconvenience getting arrested.

I recommend this to anyone, you never know when you might need it.

Unique and Useful

A lot of styles are good for fitness, flexability and interest but you rarely come across and style that you can say is genuinely useful in every day life.

I love training here, its a great crowd and real good fun but more importantly for me, I walk away from every lesson feeling I have learnt soemthing that will actually imporve my confidence, improve my health or benefit me in a way that many other styles would not.

You also get a good level fitness adn all the other good stuff you would expect from a Martial Art.

I recommend this to anyone.

Excellent training and atmosphere at the Northholt S.A.F.E. club

I have had many years of martial arts training and I have found the Northolt SAFE club to be one of the most enjoyable I have been involved with. David Hall is an enthusiastic, dedicated instructor. He is very approachable and provides a good atmosphere for learning a mixed martial arts based fighting system.

I really enjoy the system for its "functionality", the techniques taught are directly applicable to real-life combat situations. Rather than taking just one style or discipline, I have found that S.A.F.E incorporate elements from different arts into a system that anyone can learn. We have close ties with Jeff Sawyer, who developed this system. Jeff is also extremely dedicated and passionate about the system. This enthusiasm is infectious and both Jeff and Dave (as well as the other SAFE instructors) make this a truly enjoyable class. I highly recommend this club.
