I was a former student and was lucky enough to have a great teacher in Marvin, Very talented, super fit, polite and generally a all round nice guy.

The new dojo is fantastic, with the belt on the wall looking proudly at all the past and present students.

Very we'll equipped, loads of room, great teacher and would recommend his teachings to all people that can train, wish you all the best in your new dojo, SJ.

My son has been going for just over a year now and he loves it!

He never perseveres with anything and I was sure he would give this up too but he absolutely loves it!

The instructors are excellent with children, enthusiastic, patient and professional. My son is autistic and even though he has bad days when he doesn't want to listen, they still manage to teach him.

A little over a year ago Pritchard's martial arts held a FREE women's self defence course, and I have to say it was the most important choice of my life, because I was attacked on my way from work one night and if it weren't for The Self defence that I was taught I would of been seriously injured, I thank Marvin Pritchard for his time on that day teaching me and all the other ladies that joined that course on that day, I will certainly be Doing it again, and remember its not something you do for fun, it's something that might someday just save your life like it did mine!

Pritchard's martial arts Porthmadog not only teaches great classes of karate and kickboxing but they also teach Life skills such as Honesty, Respect, Self discipline, Self Control, Focus , balance and indomitable spirit, sure they have fun but they also learn something new everyday, they have fun and also mixed in with working hard on there Combination and katas, the environment is clean and safe, the instructors are great role models and have gained respect from my self and all the other parents, I wouldn't recommend anywhere els to go but here, the price is fair to what we receive, since my child has started I have seen massive improvements on his listening skills, his school work Has gotten better and he always shows respect at home, PMA is the best so why go anywhere els!

The reason why I Train at Pritchard's Martial arts Porthmadog is because the student service is great, they give every student the attention and helps us in detail with our combinations and self defence, I also like going there to chat to my friends that I have made there, we are like a family and everyone gets along great, I have now been training for 1 year and I am a blue belt and already I have seen massive improvements in my fitness, cardio, self discipline and most of all my attitude towards life, Thank you so much Renshi for helping me become the confident person I am today :)

My son loves going to karate he love to practice his kata and self defences every lesson plus he love the games that PMA do in class but Renshi and sensei calls them drills because they focuse on self control concentration respect skills confidence balance and much more PMA you are the best.I'am one happy parent

PMA Porthmadog have more lessons in a week than other Martial art school have in a month.they Have over 25 lesson a week that over a 100 lessons a month yes one word 4 that waaaawwww Renshi Marvin and sensei Adam you are awesome keep up the good work xx

The best thing I ever did was to enrol my son in this academy. He started classes just over a year ago and in that time I have seen him grow in confidence. There has been a massive improvement in his self-esteem, co-ordination and fitness. The Academy promotes positivity, respect, courtesy and self-control and they go a long way to ensure that each and every one of their students feel valued, respected and above all they give them a sense of achievement!. This is all done in a friendly, welcoming and most importantly a fun environment!!I

My grandchild has been a pupil for sometime and has until recently been really enjoying the lessons. Unfortunately it seems to be more and more about team games rather than learning the katas.

I used to drop him off at the beginning of the lesson and be there waiting at the end but over the last few weeks I make sure I am watching every lesson to see how time is actually spent on practicing the kata, new combinations and self defence.

my grandchild wants to learn more but sadly spends a good part of every lesson playing hockey with a foam stick. sadly no longer happy and now wants to join another club.

Dissappointed as it started off being really good and worth every penny.

Before I started doing kickboxing, I had my fears and doubts like would I gain anything, I wouldant know anyone, would the instructors be helpfull and 3 years on I look back and say it was deffenitly worth joining Prichards martial arts Porthmadog! Since I've started i have lost a stone, gained new friends I am able to defend my self and my self esteeme has got much better, everyone talks about the price being too much but I say. You pay for quality and that's just what I'm doing, I'm paying for quality instructors, quality classes, quality environment and overall I'm having a quality time! go and try it, wouldant hurt, I am now a brown white and I am loving every second of it PMA is deffenitly the best martial arts school around FACT

I like PMA Porthmadog because of the high standerd of the instuctors and the student service is great, I try to find faults everytime, but I am very impressed on how marvin Prichard handles each class and gives to focus and attention on each student, he always makes the kids feel special, keep up the good work Renshi!

Loving going there for kickboxing and the HABIT programm. Seeing great result and always a great admosphere. Renshie Marvin and Seinsei Adam are graet motivateur and would not change a thing. Their are not only their for the money as other as mention; they are their for the student first and for all. My kids can't wait to start also.

My child has been a student at PMA for over 2 years and has grown in confidence and respect to others. Karate is not for everyone, seen kids join then loose interest quickly and drop out, but the ones who continue have really changed in their behaviour, how they treat other younger and older with respect in and out of class. it may not be the cheapest hobby for your child and it's £35 extra every 3 months for each child's grading, but seriously if you want your child to have the discipline and focus - this may be the sport for them!

The only downside is that there are no classes currently being taught on a Monday at Por

thmadog and that other classes come in before your class has finished which causes distraction towards the end of the lesson.

I am a parent of one of the student and I must say I am very impressed with the standerd of marvin Prichard, my daughter looks up to him and he is a role model to every kid, the best thing I've done is bring my daughter into prichards martial arts Porthmadog, everyone is friendly, the classes are always different and unique not the same class everyday and my daughter always asks me " when can I go to karate" anyone should give it a go! It's the best thing since slice bread :)

I trained with sensei marvin Pritchard for approx 3 years and got up to my browm/black belt !!.

For the years i trained with marvin i would say he was proffesional; friendly and dedicated to teaching at all levels.Kickboxing was great fun and fitness was also high on my list. Price wise for me was fine; as you could train 3 times a week ! there is such a lot to learn and again he was patient; while i was able to train i gained a better level of fitness; strength and gave you more confidence to try better. Each session was different and kickboxing was a big part of my life!

Great value for the classes that's been taught, high quality instructors, safe environment and you make new friends, PMA Porthmadog also focuses on self control, anti bullying, self asteem, indominable spirit and much more, I would recommend any persons of any age to try it!

prichards martial arts (PMA) is the most professional karate business I have seen and trained in, all the instructors are friendly and professional and the environment is safe and clean and the student service is second to none, I would recommend anyone to start, there is nothing to lose and loads to gain! Went to porthamdog for about a month; for two of us was a bit overpriced. Instructor very god and friendly but did not learn that much. Still try it for yourselfs.

went a few times to port academy; much prefer caernarfon.better that they have more room and more facilities.still port ok.

I have to say ,I am an instructor from Ireland originally and my son Josi loves it It is a great way to learn the basics and you can train 3 times a week, anyone who knocks paying a price for your sons /daughters education is depriving them of an opportunity ,Marvin is one of the nicest guys you could meet .it has to have a structure to survive , we used to be supported by Grants and donations , My son also excells in class at school in certain subjects because of it , Sensei Patrick Watson.

My three boys enjoy every class and the instructors are so friendly and helpful. Thank you PMA for bringing my boys so far xx

All the teachers at the academy are enthusiastic, friendly and approachable. The advanced classes can be hard work, but their always fun. Since i started karate ive made friends, got more confidence and got so much fitter. Training gives me something to look forward to on Mondays !

I can honestly say I've never enjoyed a class as much as I'm enjoying HABIT. The instructors are fantastic, the routines change fortnightly and are never dull, and the atmosphere in the classes is great. I would recommend PMA to anyone. Gemma and Sarah are great - very professional, encouraging and they make everyone feel so welcome. I've been going for 3 months and feel so much fitter, both physically and mentally. Amazing how beneficial a 30 minute class 3 times a week can be! Thank you PMA

Our Son has been training at the academy for over 7 years! in that time karate here has been a positive influence on his life. His confidence has grown , his school work has benefited due to impovement in awareness and concentration. He has become stronger which has helped him in other physical activities. my son started 18 months ago and he has progressed so well not just in the academy but in all areas of school and home ..his development encouraged me to try once renshi marvin started teaching adult classes ...i had never done any form of exercise since leaving school 25 yrs ago however with his training and encouragement my fitness and confidence has come on in leaps and bounds ....i have recommended him to many friends who have all signed up and love it as much as me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not a member of the PMA but I've been there a few times and I can honestly say that it like going to disney in the way of how they treat every single person like gold! Both instructors are a great role model to the kids and adult alike! I would recommend anyone to try it out! go PMA! Reach for the stars!

We joined the academy just over 2.5 years ago as a family, myself and my 2 sons age 11 and 13 now and we have all experienced excellent benefits. We are happy, fit and healthy and the discipline the children learn through team work, drills and skills and through their katas is amazing. It has helped both of them to focus on school work and they are both respectful to parents, teachers and others at all times.

For me, the classes are an excellent and fun way of keeping fit, in the time I have been attending no 2 classes have been the same, the instructors are excellent at varying the workouts to include different activities that are fun and interesting. The recent changes to the timetables has been refreshing, allowing for more sparring and higher and lower grade classes.

The dedication and hard work of the instructors is inspiring, the atmosphere in the academy is always welcoming and friendly. Instructors are friendly and supportive, especially of newcomers where you can be introduced at your own pace to increase confidence and ability.

Some comments on here suggest that it is expensive; the academy offers a range of classes everyday of the week so there is opportunity to train every night if desired 5 classes a week over a month period works out at £3 a lesson-so much cheaper than the gym or any other fitness classes.

Grading every quarter is fantastic as you achieve goals at regular intervals and are rewarded frequently for hard work and effort. Yes everyone does pass their grading, however if you are not up to the standard you do not grade - you are told in PRIVATE so as to not embarrass of knock your confidence in public-this is especially important for children and beginners.

We all love training at Pritchards Martial Arts and reccommend the school to anyone and everyone who wants to get fit, have fun and make new friends. Ousah!

when it comes to classes time I dread leaving the house but once I'm there I feel fantastic !!!!brilliant workout and worth every penny ;)

I have been one of Chris Pritchard's students since 2006. I started training at Caernarfon and due to workload and increased hours have now moved to PMA Porthmadog. At both academys I have found the instructors, Chris, Gemma, Marvin, Robin and Adam to be respectful, encouraging, motivating, supportive etc, everything you would expect from a top martial arts school.

I have been able to share my time between both academys and always receive a warm welsome in both. I would not attend any other Martial Arts School. The classes are excellent and the instructors show the upmost respect to all students, of all ages.

I believe that individuals who do not agree with my thoughts about this academy should keep their opinions to themselves, we all have issues in our lives that crop up from time to time, and these things happen to the best of us. Should they be truth, lies or just idle gossip, they should not be posted on the internet. These instructors at PMA Academy show respect and courtesy, how about you grow up and do the same. I would recommend Pritchard's Martial Arts Academy to any individual who wanted to train in Martial Arts. Thank you all at PMA :-)

My son trained with Renshi Marvin and Sensei Adam for two and a half years until we moved away from the area a few weeks ago... The classes are the thing my son misses most about home. When he first started he was really shy but the instructors have a way of bringing kids out of themselves and instilling a confidence they don't know they have. I can't recommend the classes enough , they are fun, varied and in all the time he trained he never got bored...there was always something new. The team work really really hard and don't deserve the negative comments below....Renshi Marvin has a gift as a teacher that can't be taught... I wish you all the luck for the future and hope my boy can train with you again one day.

both the instructors of the PMA Porthmadog are really friendly, enthusiastic and always ready to answer any questions we want to say, Renshi marvin is one of the friendliest people I have met and it is a plesure to meet and to get to know him personally, Sensei Adam is also very enthusiastic and great with the kids! Took eldest son to karate as he was being picked on in school so wanted him to gain confidence and to be able to look after himself in a safe way - it has worked he feels better in himself.

After seeing the effect on eldest son we took youngest son, he also need to gain self control as he had a temper again there has been a big improvment in him.

Both boys really enjoy the session and look forward to the classes every week.

There’s no second guessing the spiteful person that has written the negative reviews on here, hmmmm. And also I would like to point out that they were written ‘coincidently’ the day after each other. It’s very unfair to take your ‘anger’ on someone who is considered to be a great role model and whom we are very lucky to have in our small community and that is of Renshi Marvin. It upsets me to read such un- thoughtful words as Renshi Marvin is a young, enthusiastic and a very talented instructor who has a demure manor to his personality. He is excellent with the kids…and can I just point out, if this was a ‘poor’ academy then why does he have so many students???

All the bad reviews on here are just a load of nonsense and incorrect they should get their facts right before putting false comments on here.

The club is run by very dedicated & professional young Men who work hard to train their students and to keep them motivated. I for one Love coming and will continue for as long as I can I will also recommend anyone to give them a try.

My son has had the most wondrful experience at PMA Porthmadog. His general fitness and coordination has really improved over the last few months since starting just before the new year. The biggest benefit I would say though is his growing self-confidence and positive attitude which have changed as a result of the fantastic teachers and welcoming students who train at the dojo. Personally, I don't think you can put a price on life skills like these, but I think the value we get for the service provided is top rate! The school is run by a professional, enthusiastic team that love karate and teaching. This comes across at every class and I have found every member of the team to be approachable and friendly. We have experienced other dojos in the area, and I know it can be a really personal choice, but this one works really well for us. I would recommend a visit to see for yourself what a great place this is.

My son has been attending PMA Porthmadog for just under a year and I can't praise them enough. Renshi is amazing with the kids, promoting fitness and respect. My son loves going to Karate lessons and can't get enough!

Location and equipment are first class.

I took my daughter to a karate party a while back too.. I have never been so impressed with any tea party ranging 24 years and 4 kids later!!

I have been doing karate with Renshi Chris prichard and Renshi marvin prichard for 9 years now and I have never once thought to stop, I will continue to train and I will continue to support the instructors and PMA in everything they do! training in Prichards martial arts is the best thing I have ever done!

I can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I have ever made was to bring my son to Marvin’s karate lessons. The instructors are warm and welcoming and very experienced. My son really enjoys going to class, and with each class he gains a little more confidence. You pay for what you get and we are definitely getting our money’s worth, the karate school goes above and beyond with their service. Would definitely recommend! Diolch i ti Renshi!
