Centon Ryu Karate Club is traditional Shotokan. We have been training at St Martins Church since 1997. The instructors are David Atherton 4th Dan, Graham Dodgson 1st Dan. We get excellent results, because we run a friendly club and train students to their highest ability. Our instructors are qualified after doing coaching awards, we are CRB cleared and first aiders. We teach karate to a variety of ages, from 5 to 75 and from white to black belt! Although our sessions are mixed, (adults and children), adults train separately from little ones.
We teach a variety of skills to our students, all based around self defence. Karate is a safe sport, because we teach control, but not all clubs have this point of view. There are so many good things about karate at our club…
You can build up your confidence against bullies, learn how to control a dangerous situation and being able to defend yourself and your family.
We grade students every 3 months, providing they have practiced for 20+ sessions in a quarter.
The club also attends competitions regularly, which our students love to attend. The first 4 sessions are free, so why not come and try karate at our club?
